So the EERO 6 experiment did not work. Why? Because no matter what I did, EERO 6 wouldn't connect to Sonic Fiber and I couldn't set it up.

But the good news is that on my old EERO 5, after I have restarted it, the speed test came back as 390 down and 593 up, which is closer to what I was getting on Intel's Air. The Tx Rate seems to be holding at 866 and the speed test on the EERO 5 itself is 950 up/down, so the EERO 5 is running at the fiber's speed...

Maybe I'll try to set up EERO 6 again. I'll update this if anything changes.

Make sure on 5Ghz you have channel 80 Mhz up. If you are running on 40 Mhz, you get half of the bandwidth. So does 20 Mhz.

Going up to 160 Mhz which my UI hardware router can support won't do much because it only has 2x2 supported by the MacBook Pro 14.

Thank you for the tip. It shows Channel: 112 (5Ghz, 80 MHz), but if it didn't, how would I change it?

In your router setting/configuration - that I cannot help. Every brand router is different. One I have here is a UDM Prosumer grade router (expensive) that I can switch on the fly.

My MBP 14 seems to consistently have similar issues, or at least lower connection speeds than my M1 MBA. Not sure if it is a software issue (running the latest 12.1 Beta, 21C5045a) but hopefully it is resolved in future updates.

How is the battery life on your new MBPs?

Apple claims up to 17 hours. I don't get anything near that. Just watching Youtube or Netflix and not doing anything else, I get maybe 6 hours on the 80/20 charge/discharge routine.
