Thanks for sharing. You using xbox controller? Very high is max settings right? Any dips or lag during explosions etc or all smooth throughout? Looks good though.

I'm having loads of fun with this machine. I played Crysis 2 last night for 6 hours straight! I overclocked the GPU to 800/1000 and it's stable. Max GPU temp was 88c. Is that too high? Should i be worried?

I played 6 hours at Borderlands at 700/900 with a GPU temp 85c. So I suppose you should be fine.

On the other hand, I have a question. Is someone experiencieng the throttling of the CPU during his gaming sessions?

I haven't had the chance to measure it with hwmonitor yet, but I will keep you posted

When configuring MSI afterburner to work with unofficial cards, you have the option to disable Powerplay. Did you disable Powerplay?

He's talking about the CPU and not the GPU.

I've used Intel's widget, the turbo boost one, and it seems to run fine.

anyone got any idea when we can expect an official driver update from AMD?

I played San Andreas on mine and it's gorgeous (maxed out native resolution etc) but I notice sometimes, usually at the beginning, it lags when rendering lots of large things like palm trees or redwoods etc. Or if there's a fire/steam/cloud it ever so slightly slows down briefly.

It was a lot worse on the 6490 or whatever it's called, the one on the 2.0GHz one.

The lag goes away but it's kind of disturbing that it should occur on such an old game which shouldn't be too demanding given the gig of VRAM, etc.

Any helpful tips or advice? I want to make the most of this, I don't mind trying to overclock it or anything; I'm pretty brave when it comes to tinkering.

The GTA series is pretty notorious for having terrible coding on the PC side.

Difference between official Catalyst Drivers and Boot Camp drivers?

Catalyst 11.3 came out yesterday - has anyone been brave enough to try and install them?

Strangely, the 6700 series (both desktop and mobile) does not show as a compatible GPU in the release notes:

http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst113ReleaseNotes.aspx

Do these new official Catalyst Drivers really make a difference compared to the Boot Camp drivers AMD wants us to use? I've used both the official 11.2 drivers and the bootcamp drivers now, and I don't see what the difference is.

I play Starcraft II, mostly.

Someone on the Rift forums said that they installed 11.3 and it made a big difference over 11.2 for them (on a PC, not a Mac, mind you), which is why I was curious.

Guys I just installed the 11.4 Preview drivers from AMD, and they let me install it without much trouble! Im pretty surprised. I didn't have to mod an .INF file or anything! 2011 Macbook Pro is running fine so far.

i did the same too,and couldnt see either, but i did reinstall the mac drivers agin yesterday, went bak to vga first tho-etc,seems to have improved a heap from first install actually.

ive tested today sc2 and MSI afterburner.

ive noticed that the CPU clocks itself down after a few minutes of playing... resulting in a poor FPS rate (below 30fps)

Any idea what is causing this?

Can someone shed light on the performance of sc2 with high-res 1680x1050 and HD6750 both in OSX and bootcamped W7.

i dont play starcraft, but i play plenty of fpshooters, modern and few yrs old,i can tell you it rocks with 1680x1050,its still great,i have tweaked my system using many reg edits in win 7 and other perf mods like lassoo and game booster, the biggest diff was when i uninstalled the bootcamp drivers back to default vga, then reinstalled bootcamp drivers again, this seemed to improve graphics considerably for some reason,i mean it really sharpened up the whole experience a lot, dont kno why tho,

and i re ran the win experience index too,to reset it,after driver reinstall,

Hey guys,

I recently bought my MPB pro 15 2,2ghz 8gbram 67501gb ati.

I was wondering if the games I like to play also will run fine in mac snow leopard... I do not have the reatil version of win7 to install... And I do not have the money to buy it in littl time ( all mz money was spend at the purchase of my mbp haha)

Anyway untill now I like the MBP very very much. Still a bit strange to work with it but I will get used to it.

And where can I find and how do I install those overclock programs? (app store??!!)

Thanks!

Christian
