I am sorry, I don't understand what are you trying to tell me (if that message was for me, of course :))

What can I say? I know very little about what constitutes a good GPU score versus okay or poor. Most of my previous computers were geared towards mobility and/or costs. The most intense graphic games I have ever played were system killers such as Solitaire, Free Cell, Chess, RollerCoaster Tycoon, MineSweeper, and Connect the Dots.

Scratch what I said before, the 11.4 drivers really slow things down when playing video games. I deleted them and reinstalled the official Boot Camp driver from ATI's website.

I'VE NOTICED THIS TOO!!! I don't know why it does this! I've been using settings recommended by this thread (766/955) and I see a graph EXACTLY LIKE THIS, even when using the official Boot Camp drivers!

What exactly do you mean you uninstalled and reinstalled the boot camp drivers on your machine? And how would that make a difference? Thanks!

in windows 7,i went into hardware settings,[its the list where you update drivers for windows]went to the display - deleted the display driver completely[my machine went back to vga graphics, low resolution etc,] then rebooted and did a repair install with apple bootcamp drivers, off the osx install disc,
then re ran windows aero assesment test.

Hey guys,

I recently bought my MPB pro 15 2,2ghz 8gbram 67501gb ati.

I was wondering if the games I like to play also will run fine in mac snow leopard... I do not have the reatil version of win7 to install... And I do not have the money to buy it in littl time ( all mz money was spend at the purchase of my mbp haha)

Anyway untill now I like the MBP very very much. Still a bit strange to work with it but I will get used to it.

And where can I find and how do I install those overclock programs? (app store??!!)

Thanks!

Christian
you can use a program called "msi afterburner"=google it,but you need to edit a file to make it work[check guru 3d forums for how,its not hard]
to be honest, you dont really need to overclock to get good frame rates,i use a program in windows called win lassoo and game booster, these are for windows 7 only tho.

Surprised how well the card overclocks.

Went from highest settings minus AA in crysis 20-30FPS to 30-40FPS. sweet.

here's the MSI afterburner edit info:

You need to alter the following:
-Seek UnofficialOverclockingEULA field and add following text:
I confirm that I am aware of unofficial overclocking limitations and fully understand that MSI will not provide me any support on it
-Set UnofficialOverclockingMode to 1 to keep PowerPlay active (may not work on old ASICs), 2 to traditionally disable PowerPlay or to 0 to temporary disable unofficial overclocking path

Good gaming laptop, but my question is, is the performance increase is worth it to buy this model(I have last years)?

can't always be buying the newest mbp everytime it comes out, stick with one and set in ur head when you're gonna upgrade, mine is every 2 yrs, lose roughly $300-400 in resale everytime, but i can live with that

hey guys, how are you all installing 11.3? when I try, there's no driver update option. Only Catalyst and other stuff?

=) in OSX as stated in your quote hehe 10.6.7

no need for any 6750 machines to go into BootCamp. I haven't tried with Anti-aliasing though but yeah runs wonderfully natively on OS X.

haha :p:D:rolleyes:

Yeah, I kinda read that now!!! I was in a rush earlier, well that's my excuse, I was trying to watch your vid to before I came into work but it was stuttering so will have a look when I get home. Glad to hear it works great under OSX though. I use Windows 7 for things like Crysis and some old games. But if I can play a game without having to reboot then that's fantastic.

I would also like to comment that the 6750m makes Portal 2 into smooth butter. Native res and highest settings w/ 2xAA and 4xAF makes this game looks fantastic. Not too surprising since the source engine is relatively easy to run these days.

How much have you overclocked your card. Shaders/memory voltage

Stock bootcamp drivers

750 core
900 memory has been good. Modest compared to what I've seen others.

Anyone have a good Windows temp monitor? GPU doesn't report correctly on HWMonitor and Real Temp.

GPU-Z works on my iMac not sure how it'll work on your MacBook Pro, it crashed mine -- don't know why.

Hi guys,

i have a serious problem with 3dmark2006 and 3dmark vantage, the results are so low!

these are my results:
http://3dmark.com/3dm06/15637894
http://3dmark.com/3dmv/3093148

as you can see, I should achieve 9400 and 5400 instead of 6600 and 4500
I have win 7 64 bit and I tried stock catalyst, 11.2 catalyst and 11.3 catalyst, all the same

I checked with MSI afterburner and the gpu is working 100% all the time and the frequency are correct (600/800)

With cinebench the opengl result and the cpu result are ok

My guess, it must be some problem with the directx, but I can't figure out what.

Please help

Solved by reinstalling windows, now the gaming experience is much more better :)

15'' MBP 2.2.GHz: gaming suitability?

Hey Guys!!

I'm looking for some advice regarding the 2011 15'' MBP 2.2.GHz's gaming capabilities. considering i know nothing about gaming i thought I'd get the opinion of some people who know what they're talking about!!

one of my friends is interested in getting the 15'' MBP. He flew out to Thailand last night and noticed it in a duty free store for much less than the usual retail price and is thinking about getting it when he flies back into Australia in a couple of weeks. Anyway.. he wants me to see if i can find out any information about the MBP's gaming suitability.

basically the question i'm hoping you can help me with is can the 15'' MBP take the heat?! is it good enough, graphics wise, to handle usual gaming requirements or do you have to compromise a bit on quality? what memory and hardrive requirements do you think are best?
haha honestly, i have no idea what he plays. i've seen him on World of Warcraft but other than that i don't know.

haha i appreciate any help you can give me, i need the opinion of people who know what they're talking about! i love my MBP but honestly, all it does it sit on my desk and look sexy, i have no idea about it.

hello from Australia! and thanks again :)

Bulletstorm, Settings all on High except Post Processing on Med. 40-70 FPS dipping to 40 is very rare usually stays around 60. 1680x1048 resolution (game doesn't like 1680x1050, coding issue)

Stock 11.2 Boot Camp drivers, OC'd to 800/990.
810 seems to be the limit for core, not sure about memory haven't tried past 1000. Max temp around 70-80 in GPU-Z.
