MacBook Pro 17-inch with number pad (Idea)

I have a few question not about though this, on the 2012 cMBP are the fans asymmetrical like on the rMBP? Is it possible the mod those fans from the rMBP to cMBP?

I own a HP ProBook that has this setup and it is the absolute worst setup regarding ergonomics for a laptop. I am happy with the normal MacBook Pro setup and I wouldn't want to use mine any other way.

Don't worry. Apple doesn't make a 17" MacBook Pro anymore.
