I think he means he WANTS you to foot the whole bill...

No he said "You're a bit like my 21 year old sister. Everything in the world always affects JUST HER in some way. It kind of gets on my nerve..."

Nice huh?

Thank you for all the replies. They are very much appreciated. I received the 17 inch antiglare model today but i just noticed that there is a slight gap between the screen and body when the macbook is closed. It's like the screen is very slightly bent. Just wondering if this is normal or a defect ? Thanks again.

it would be great if you could upload the pics of your new machine with the lid closed:)
if the screen is bent, i would call apple and let them know of the problem asap:)

btw congratulations on your new MBP!

... Right, well I think the point of the argument here is that you identify yourself as a person that finds him/herself to be a martyr because they pay inflated :apple: prices due to returns. You however think there is a larger subset of "your kind" and thus think your original statement was "totally valid, dude". In my opinion, you should be able to return an item that you are having second thoughts about. Hindsight is always 20/20, and you'll pay a restocking fee (this is where your "we all foot the bill" bit really pisses me off). By god you should be able to return your regrets, but you and you alone will pay.

ant043 - shoot a picture of it and post it for us. How close is the nearest apple store? I have the 17' and can't see what you are talking about but how often do you own something and never see it till someone mentions it. Post a pic and I will compare it to mine.

Here's a few pics. It doesn't really bother me but i don't want it getting any worse in the future. Maybe it's a normal feature i don't know. Any thoughts ? thanks

Looks fine mate, not sure what you're worrying about.

Thanks. It doesn't really bother me. The 13 inch pro i used to have had no gap or slight bend in the display. Just interested to see if any other 17 inchers have this same slight bend. You can see it really well in the first picture.

Just think of it as a quirk and love her for all the pleasure she brings you. Nothing is perfect.

sorry about the pictures quality. i had to use my iphone.

Amen! When will they put a good camera in a freaking iPhone!

BTW I think you made a good decision with the refurb 17" and if you have any doubts, why not swing by an apple store and complain a little? who knows where a balance of complaint/respect towards a store manager might get you.... There's no harm in trying and who doesn't sort of enjoy a trip to the apple store anyway?

This next processor upgrade is going to be a major move up to another
plateau imo.

I'm also looking for the MBP 17. Just have to wait the 6 months.

No quirks mine is the same way it is the small rubber gasket and should not be an issue. As long as it closes fine on the front and is held closed.
