Jeeze, my bad guys. I didn't mean to start a USB war. I just think it would be nice. I am sure it isn't necessary, but hell we have see how good apple is at squeezing stuff into small packages, would someone really complain if they did it? Just more options.:D

Here's my wish list, ranging from "extremely likely" to "PSH! Yeah right!":

-Upgraded CPU
-Upgraded graphics card (with 256 MB of graphics memory on the base model)
-Easy to replace hard drive
-MacBook-style keyboard with backlights
-Blu-ray or HD-DVD drive
-Markedly improved battery life
-eSATA port
-Built-in WiMax

I would like to see a multitouch touchpad.

Isn't a multitouch touchpad more of a firmware update than anything? Current MBPs/MBs can do the two-finger scrolling, so it's definitely capable of picking up more than one source. All that it would need is just an update to have it recognize the pinching, etc.

Or is what I'm saying completely wrong?

I guess it will have hybrid disk with flash memory - that's the way to go to improve the time running on battery. Together with Penryn and LED display we could get few minutes more :)

Big difference between sensing two touches and being able to do multitouch. I assume that when you touch in two places it doesn't actually sense two points, but instead senses one. abnormally "big," point. For some things, that might be good enough, but not for everything the iphone can do.

What could be next for the MacBook Pro, could it end up being more of the Pro Desktop, or come macworld will it have a little upgrade, heres what i think is maybe a more likely and what i like to see....

More likely

2.8-3.0GHz Core 2 Extreme
Geforce 8600M GT 256MB-512MB
2GB DD2 (or DD3) Memory (Option of 4GB)
200GB 7200-RPM (option of 250GB 5400-RPM or 300RPM 4200-RPM)

What i like to see

Quad Core
Geforce 8800M GT 512MB-768MB (option of 8800 GTX)
4GB DD2 memory (option of 8GB)
500GB 7200-RPM 2x250GB 7200-RPM (option internal Disc Drive/or 2nd Hard Drive)
Black Screen outlining like the imac
OLED Screen
HD Option in 15-inch
eSata Plug

What do you think????

PowerBook G4 1.25GHz 768MB (Ready to upgrade)

ha,ha oled screen are higly unlikely..they have just 5000 workinghours vs 60000 wh lcd/led(more likely then oled(lol:)..even though the responsetime on oled are innsane 0,01 ms.maybe in the year 2015..he,he
you know sony will release(the first) a 11" inch oled screen (japan only) in desember
costing 1700$
sony-drive-xel-1_001_c.jpg

evrything else exept some things sounds wishfull thinking(like the oled).Think about the price those settings will get?7000$...
the graphic card i hope would be a reality maybe not so much vram(realistic) but a bether nvidia card then current mbp..
500 gb would really heaten the laptop up dont you think?(warm issues, batt issues, etc)

One of the things I'd like to see most is an option for a more powerful graphics card. I want at least an option to have 512MB of video memory. The option to have an 8700 or 8800 would be nice (is the mobile 8800 even out yet though?).

It'll come, eventually, but it's mostly of use in bootcamp, so you;re not going to see apple pushing the boundaries of graphics power anytime soon.

if you say so..make me sad to think about it:confused::eek::eek:..
But in the other hand: GeForce 8800M GTX arrives 19 november..so it would not suprise me if they get it in mbp
The "pro" is a "pro" so it should have "pro" graphics..:p:p

nope, it senses the two point, you can press your entire thumb across it and it still sees it as only one touch, but if you put on finger on the far right and the other finger on the far left, it lets you two finger scroll, one could be towards the top, and one towards the bottom, it dosent matter, it does pick up the two separate touch points

I'm not sure if that can fit in such a slim enclosure.

That doesn't mean anything. It just means it sees that you have intercepted a large range of horizontal and vertical raster points. Instead of seeign that you touched a small point (say, 1 square centimeter) you've touched a larger rectangle.

In other words, I seriously doubt it can tell the difference between you simultaneously touching the lower left/upper right and you touching the upper left/lower right. It knows you are touching more than once, but it can't tell exactly where (other than the dimensions of the box).

Similarly, if you touch in three places, I don't think it can tell the difference between that and two places. It just expands the "touched" rectangle to the outermost points.

hmm..if the have GeForce 8600M GT in current mbp..
..i dont see the hassle with GeForce 8800M GTX:eek::eek:..is it that big?i know it's bigger then 8600..
but i have read the power-usage in 8800 are 35 watt vs 22 8600 vs if that have any impact on the batt??..

my dime..:)

Definitely affect battery life, and also makes cooling more difficult.

hmm..if i'm not correct did not some previous mbp have some warmissues like many laptos do?(not the current mbp)
it's probaly nothing "pro" about low batt life, and cooling issues.
But it really kills the idea of having "pro" graphics...

he,he...:p

Although I do agree they should bump up the vram on the 17" models to atleast 512mb on the next revision, since most of the people who buy that model use it as a desktop replacement.

And the 15" models can have a 256/512 option. Instead of the current 128/256
