And is that the reason you return every product you bought? 7 iphones had bad screens as well? Timewaster methinks.

Each of the times I took the computers in, the genius bar people immediately noticed the problem. On the first one, they documented it in detail to send back to Apple for testing. The computer with the reddish screen got a response of "holy $@#*! I've never seen that before". So I'm not crazy or OCD.

The iPhones 3G's went in for various reasons. Huge chunks of pixels not working. The headphone jack not working. The battery going bad. Dust behind the glass on the screen.

I have a MacBook at home that has never had a problem, an iMac that has been perfect, and am typing this on an iPhone 4 that is fantastic. None of them were replaced or have gone into the Apple store.

Ok but I really have a hard time with you returning 4 or 5 computers. I can see you receiving maybe one, two or even three faulty computers, however your complaints of backlight problems and other over the top claims makes me a bit dubious. I am sorry but I just get a bit annoyed when people take advantage of Apples generous return policy. And I really think a couple of your returns were uncalled for. But that is just my opinion.

I am glad you got a good one. It's too bad they use different suppliers with such low standards. I remember getting a June 2009 MBA with display problems. After the third one I was happy. With the prices we are paying we deserve a quality product. In addition, the MBP is meant for Pros who need accurate colors, and I am surprised Apple isn't using IPS in the MBP while the iPad and iPhone have them. Hopefully the future brings IPS displays in Mac notebooks.

I love my screen. Colours pop out and everything appears so crisp. It is also very bright. I am loving my new MBP's screen to bits, it is a huge leap forward from my 2008 MBP.

I was trying to hold out for the next revision of the MBP in the hopes they'd up the screen technology. Unfortunately, my old MBP's logic board fried a year earlier than I had hoped, so I went ahead with this year's model.

you can go in and get the screen replaces rather than the entire laptop.

Ended up swapping out that last computer too because of a yellowish backlight bleed that made watching movies unbearable if you were at even a slight degree off of the perfect viewing angle. :(

But, the computer I got it swapped out for has a 9CA3 (LG) screen, and it's great. Even better than my old MBP.

I've adjusted just fine to the glossy screen, which I really like a lot more than the AG screens (just a preference). So, hopefully this computer will work for me for the next few years.

I also have one with a 9CA3 screen and it's great. The best I've seen on any laptop. The brightness is only at about 50% - 60% most of the time because it's so bright. :D I've only had to return one Apple product which was an iPhone 3GS that was constantly searching and couldn't hold a signal. I used to buy Dell products in the past, and I went through 4 or 5 laptops to get an acceptable one! Apple quality is still much better that other companies. For anyone that is OCD about quality, don't buy a Dell or something other company, you'll never be happy. For me, the most important aspects of a laptop are a good screen and no strange noises, such as fan noise. Anything else I can live with. If mine had a bad screen, I'd return it too.

I just bought a Macbook Pro 15" and I have a blue stuck pixel. You can only see it when there is a black background. It drives me nuts, lol. My Macbook is literally 2 days old. I just set up bootcamp and set all my info in and don't want to have to do it again. Has anyone else had a stuck pixel and how did you fix it?

this is the right forum, but the wrong thread. If you use the search bar you will find multiple threads to vent your "problems" on. maybe search for a specific problem you are having rather than just sharing buyers remorse to a new MBP. you say you are no newbie to the OSX but your post suggests otherwise.

that being said, I have a early 2011 with a AG screen, and do not notice any problems with the screen. I will say in comparison to the PC I came from using, the blacks are a little dark at times (mostly movies) but its nothing that can't be fixed by simply calibrating it. I am 100% satisfied with the screen I have. Sorry to anyone who is not.
