Does anyone in the uk know roughly how long it currently takes to get from 'preparing for shipment' to delivered?

starting to think mine will never arrive I was a 13th and hearing everybody else get theirs is making me boil over with jealousy!!!! hahahah

Ordered 2.7/16gig/512ssd late on the 13th to Montreal, Canada... Still Processing... I got my superdrive right away... fat load of good that does me... This will be my first Mac so I am super excited...:apple:

I was hoping that I may be lucky with a 15th order for the 2.3/16/256 in the UK but alas - Ships: 3 - 4 Weeks Delivers 13 Jul, 2012 - 19 Jul, 2012.

I'm not that fussed really as I can cope with that. Of course, I lie. I'm using Opera with a custom page reload of 5mins and as I'm usually awake for 17hrs each day it works out at 204 re-loads!!

I guess Apple will be looking at some re-load stats from their web pages and seeing how anxious people are getting about their orders.

I also think I've cracked why there is such a huge backlog of orders. The Chinese have run out of boxes to put the MBPr in!! :p

Guess I can manage a few more weeks until mines comes outa "processing"

Lots of Mac first-timers! I'm curious, what about this one made you take the plunge?

Also, no movement for me, still processing (ordered early AM on the 12th to Toronto, 16/2.3/256).

My 2.3/16/256 RMBP arrived via fed ex this morning. It is awesome.

Ordered around 7:00 PM EST Monday June 11.
Original shipping estimate Jun 29 - July 7
Fed Ex estimate June 27
Left China June 25th 11 AM EST
Delivered NJ, USA June 26th 10 AM (less than 24 hours after leaving China!)

Speaking for myself of course: I'm switching to a mac from HP/Dell/etc Linux boxes mainly for it's UNIX-ness and support-ability (ie someone else). I'm quite frankly tired of maintaining my Linux laptops, which BTW never go to sleep correctly or have the right drivers or eat battery life like it's candy, etc etc etc... I write server-side Java (high throughput/low latency) apps and do most of my development and micro-benchmarking on my laptop then move onto my (very beefy) Linux servers for more testing and production deployment. I wanted something that was portable, beefy, easy to maintain/use and familiar. In addition, we already have a lot of expertise in the office getting the work we need done on apple hardware/OS. I ordered the 2.3/16/256, I had to compromise on the CPU for the memory since the 8-way parallel factor (4 cores, 8 parallel threads) vs the raw speed was most important to me and disk space isn't that big of a deal (lots of text files and no media, 1 or 2 VMs).

I was looking at apple for some time based on suggestions from colleagues and was ready 6 months ago, but most of my colleagues kept telling me a refresh was due. I then became hooked on macrumors.com and well, the rest is history.

Was scheduled to get my rMBP on Thursday the 28th, but got a surprise today! I'm posting this on it! :)

Cheers all.

Did apple reserve or even withdraw the money from your VISA/MC before shipping?
I'm a bit puzzled as mine is shipped, but they did neither and my invoice says (in SEK):

Payment Methods
28.955,00 kr charged to Visa XXXXXXXXXXXX1234
For a total of 28.955,00 kr

Have a 16-GB / 512-GB SSD on order from Apple with estimated delivery of Jul 17-23... but found and purchased an 8-GB / 512-GB SSD from Best Buy yesterday.

Trying to decide if I should cancel the order or keep the order and return this one to Best Buy when it arrives...

Its like this for 7h now...

I'm hoping for some movement for the June 12 afternoon orders this evening and over the night (which of course, is the middle of the day in China.)

Maybe we'll get our deliveries by this Friday or Saturday if we're lucky!

I'm just really worried that the credit card will decline the transaction. They have a habit of doing that every time I make a purchase with the online Apple Store. For the life of me, I can't see why.
