As of this moment, MacMall has the 2.7 / 16GB / 768 in stock... just cancelled my apple.com order. Should be here by 10am tomorrow morning.

Not anymore. As of 5:23p Pacific, the telephone CSR said that they don't have 16MB at any processor speed.

EDIT: All they have is 2.6/8/512

EDIT: I was incorrect, as pointed out by @kdoug. They also have 2.7/16/768. I ordered it with next day air. I've never been so happy to be wrong.

haha i thought the same thing, then i realized the only people who are gonna bite on those probably ordered late enough that the wait isn't worth it . People ahead of us are probably gonna stick out the short wait

Seems to me that Asia is getting shafted. I'm in Japan and ordered on the 13th (the 12th if it's US time) and I'm still at processing. There was someone on here from Singapore who ordered on the 13th too and he was still at processing. It looks like Apple is skipping orders from Asia and giving priority to those in the US and in Europe first.

As soon as I saw this post I called and they had 6 in stock (8:34 EST). I ordered one for myself with next day shipping for 30. I will be returning my 2.6/8/512 tomorrow. BTW, i pressed the business option.

I should have called to request the free expedited shipping. Mine was marked "Shipped" on July 7th, but sat in China at a FedEx facility until July 10th when it flew to Alaska, and today on the 11th it's on FDX86 to Oakland (I think...)

Amazon really is great. Ordered base rmbp on 4th July and just got an email with a delivery date estimate of July 17th- 21st! That is even better time than the previously cancelled order's delivery date of early August!

I called Apple yesterday to inquire about expedited shipping as I'm heading out of town for cancer treatment for a week right in my shipping window (july 19-25). I was shocked with the rudeness of the guy. Said he probably couldn't change it, and it wouldn't matter anyways. So I got off the phone with him quickly.

I ended up getting an email later confirming that he did actually change it, so my new shipping window is July 18-24.

We will se what happens!

Yes. THanks MeatPuppet. I ordered 1.5 hours ago and it's shipped from MacMall. IMO If MacMall has 'em the Apple stores should be getting them anytime.

Day 2 coming to a close, still no progress past preparing to ship. Looks like it will be Monday at the earliest.

Are they actually building my model from scratch? Does it really take several days to assemble?
