Guys, I found it in store. Freehold-Raceway Apple in South/Central Jersey has 4 in stock, at time of writing, plus large shipments yet to be opened. Chances are you'll get it here.

I'm cancelling my order, but that won't change anything for you guys because I bought it on the 16th online.

In my experience, unless you told FedX at the time of purchase that you would pick up at the "plant", then don't. I once called and said I would pick it up the morning "of the delivery" and told them not to delivery to my office.....mistake.

I went to pick it up and they said it was on the truck...of course the driver's computer showed some kind of "don't deliver" message and brought it back after his route....after 8pm !

It (camera) was not put back on his truck the next day. I went to pick it up the third day and it was "on his truck"....so....a three day delay....Ouch !:eek:

Please include the date/time you place your order when you post your shipping status. Without the "placed order" info, all else is useless !:)

Just called: Apple couldn't change my shipping to expedited

I just called Apple to see if they could change my shipping from standard to expedited. At first, the Apple rep told me that seeing as I spent over $3000 dollars on the machine he would be more than happy to upgrade my shipping free of charge. However, a moment later he said the system was not allowing him to make changes to my shipping method (either by paying or complimentary). He was really nice about the whole thing, but I'm still a little bummed. I ordered 6/14; 3-4 weeks ship time; delivers July 13-19. He wasn't entirely sure why he couldn't make any changes to the shipping method, I'm hoping it means my order is getting ready to change from processing to...:confused:

I ordered on 6/14 in the 3-4 weeks shipping timeframe.

I just called Apple and asked them to upgrade my shipping speed, which they said would be $14. I said that was fine and asked them to put it on a separate card for me. After looking around for a minute the representative decided that it would be easier to just upgrade the shipping for free, so he did.

So, they're definitely okay with upgrading shipping for free.

I feel like I'm the only person that had to pay the $15 to upgrade the shipping how does the upgraded shipping work anyway? Would you get fedex regardless? What is it shipped by?
 
Right I'm getting bored of waiting... I've heard the expression good things come to those that wait but... :):)
 
Just had an e-mail off Apple saying it's started to process.

I applied through the apple store for financing with Barclays, does this mean the payment has been sent over from Barclays and they're just configuring my mbp to custom spec? Estimated date of arrival has jumped up my a couple of days.

I ordered 24 hours after announcement. I show 2-3 weeks...July 2-9 delivery.

I just called 30 minutes ago and they agreed to upgrade my shipping free, but when he tried to actually make the upgrade he was unable to make any type of changes to my shipping. He wasn't able to give a reason. He said I couldn't even pay for an upgrade as the system was locking him out.
 
Meh. All you guys are lucky. Ordered middle of the day on the 11th, PST.

BTO rMBP 2.3/256/16 still Processing. 2-3 week delivery. Est delivery: Jun 29 - Jul 6.

Boy am I a DOPE !

Reading all these UPGRADING SHIPPING posts I can say one thing:

I got the shaft by paying $15 for shipping. Seems everyone that asks, gets this shipping for FREE. Oh well, I was always one to follow the rules and always seem to get the stick in the END ! I'll surely choose regular shipping in the future and then call to upgrade for free ! ;)

I've seen quite a few people say expedited shipping from China doesn't really effect delivery speed - it's all air to North America. I guess once it hits the mainland it may arrive a bit quicker but I've seen a couple people with regular shipping receive theirs a couple days after it getting to Alaska. YRMV I guess
