I have a problem right in the center of my screen that looks like a dead dark grey pixel, but appears to be a tiny crater in the glass. Of course that is highly annoying, especially when using Illustrator to make scientific figures.
I talked to Apple on the phone, they remotely checked the screen via my IPhone camera and told me to go to a retailer (here in Denmark is no actual Apple store) for further investigation. Just was there and the service guy told me this would count as physical damage to the screen and would not be covered by warranty. Its most likely inflected by dust. It’s my 4th MacBook over the years and I never had that before.
It’s a 13 inch MacBook Pro with touchbar from 2016 with 2 weeks left under warranty. I have always taken really good care of it and there was never any impact on the MacBook or the screen itself.
Did someone have a similar problem and knows what to do? I find this really disturbing.
