MacBook Pro 2021 Launch Day Store Stock

With Apple Watch Series 7, in California I was able to order for store pickup at 5:30am on launch day, but there were only a few left. So I assume the store updated at 5:00am Pacific.
I'm hoping that with a pricier item, less people are inclined to buy one on launch day. I've actually never tried buying a MacBook Pro on launch day before, so this will be a new experience for me.
I've done it, you just have to compromise on whatever options the store has, versus what you need.
Do you think they’d carry the stock config of the 14” 1TB 10 core? That’s the one I’m hoping to pick up.
Can I ask a VERY basic question about ordering on launch day? So if you want to maybe get one of the new MBPs on Tuesday, you...what? Go to the Apple site, go through the ordering process, then choose what? Apple Store pickup? And if the local Apple Store has what you want, that options available? I should know this, and I assume this is how this works, but any advice would be great.
This is the spec I might try to hunt for as well. But my question is, will the apple store carry the silver color or are they all space grey?
Call your local store and ask! (Maybe something apple speaky like ”are the new MacBook models in space grey on the apple page base models, or is silver a CTO option”?
I just have no idea whether there will be a line or not out there.. because if we have no clue when online orders for instore pickup go live then we’re kinda SOL
When I went to pick up my Apple Watch 7, I overheard a walk-in asking if they could buy one - they were told they had to order it online (at which point the Apple Store employee opened the website on their tablet to walk the person through ordering it). Of course, by this point they were long sold out.
There won't be a line, most likely online orders for store pickup will be available that morning for the limited pre-built configs.
I’d be happy to jump online Tuesday AM and order for pickup at the local Apple store if that’s an option!
So basically.. if you don’t secure an online order for in store pickup, not even worth going to store.

Yep, they will always have limited configurations online for your store on launch day. They go live before the store opens. Good luck on grabbing one!
I have a shopping appointment when the store opens - i will be at the store early checking the website as well. I hope i am able to get one - as I have already traded in my laptop - to buy the new on Tuesday

Appointment doesn’t guarantee product - i think securing online order for pickup will be key to skipping any line…
the mystery is, what time does your local store update inventory?
I recall the iPad Pro was 5am update, but that was more for the online shipping option. I think local stores do it differently.
I will be checking the website from the line - even if I’m the only person in it.
Interesting ? got a feeling there’ll be no stock just like the Apple Watch launch ?
