One More thing...

Notice how the bottom edge does not taper around like it does on the current Macbook (I am typing on one now). There are many subtle differences. It is also thinner in appearance of course but it still has no bottom on it so it is hard to tell how thick it may end up being. I hope it is properly cooled.

Also, can anyone tell what firewire port is going to be used? 400 or 800?

Just 2 notes Id like to make. This new casing looks very cheaply made. Any one notice how the headphone ports stand out? On the current MBP, all the ports are blended in, and match the outer casing. Also, the finish of the casing doesnt look like the silver/aluminum colour, it looks more white.

The headphone ports is what makes me think this is fake, because I am looking at my MBP, and they are slick...the one in the picture makes it look cheap.

Thanks man!

I love this stuff too! I appreciate the kind response. I typically don't ever post anything in a forum unless I have something worth sharing! HA Maybe I will be more social now. ;-)

You don't happen to have a login for the site to download the high res shots, do you? :D

No I sure don't

I was just trying to figure out a way to get a login and translate that site to get the higher resolution photos. Hopefully someone can figure it out if I can't!

Running the site through translate.google.com works alright. I don't wanna register for a site that I can't read what's going on though without a translator=\

Pay attention guys. Someone already said they registered and there are no high resolution pics.

Where? I just looked like 5 times between the OP of these NEW pictures, and your post, and I still don't see where somebody said that.

Oh sorry... I did not know that. I read this entire thread (or so I thought) and did not see any mention of the site http://tw.apple.pro/?uid-1-action-viewspace-itemid-1138 so I thought I found something original. Go figure... I will go back to the shadows! HA

As far as I know, the pictures you just posted are new. I read this thing start to now, and hadn't seen those posted yet. I think the other guy may be confusing your pictures with the original one? I'm confused as well...

thanks man!

I haven't see those pics in this thread... nice find:)

Yeah thanks for the heads up on the other thread. I have been so engulfed in this one all night that I forgot to check for a new one! HA

Bring on the Macbooks on the 14th!!! PLEASE? :-D

What's the point of that picture? Why not take a picture of the whole thing?

It's like if Automotive websites would only show the picture of a wheel when they would publish spyshots of a new car.

What the hell?

Finally

I've been waiting for something like this since July. I honestly dont like the new Macbook Air keyboard, feels cheap in comparison to current macbook pro, although the new ones have no seams for dirt; toss up.

It's looking good! I hope it's similar to (if not) the real one.

I hope more though, that they are released sometime this month... I can't go much longer before I need one. An iPhone on a university wireless network just isnt cutting it anymore.

I agree about the headphone jacks.

So did anybody notice that aside from looking cheaper than they now do on the current MacBook Pro, the headphone jacks being present at all on just a casing should be a red flag that this photo is a fake? I mean those jacks would be a part of the internal components of the computer that protrude to the outside and fit in to the blank holes on the casing, so I think that if this photo were real, those silver outlined headphone jacks would not be there at all. Anybody else agree with this argument?

Maybe they added that metal to better shield/ground the audio outputs than they had before? Remember the problems with the "robot" sounds and static?

You never know.

That could be. It just seems weird that they would do that as they are shown, though. I am using a MacBook Pro right now, and every jack on this computer looks like it is a cutout shape from the metal with a grey plastic jacket protruding from the inside to line the edge of the cutout shape. I imagine this also helps separate the internal current from escaping and running through the metal casing via one of the jacks. If they omitted this plastic jacket and just used metal lining as is shown in this picture, I think the system would not work the same. Just a theory, though.

With that being said, perhaps its so the outside appearance is that of metal, while there's a plastic ring on the inside, so the metal ring on the outside is almost decoration (Very un-Apple, I know, but gives off the "all-metal" appearance)

If I'm correct Apple stopped allowing iPods to sync through firewire (presumably because when iTunes for windows was released, most windows machines didn't have firewire ports)

The new Nanos don't charge through Firewire anymore either

I read that the FW800 port would/could be backwards compatable with FW400
I heard the same thing about FW800 being backwards compatible with 400. We'll see soon enough.

would be great if the new macbook pro looks quietly similar to this one :

(just forget the stupid screen-glass trackpad and the black bezel)

Nice mock.
First Image:
• The infrared circle is not centered vertically on the middle section.
• There is a gradient on the middle section from dark to light (left to
right). You missed carrying that over at the top part of the bottom
section you cut from the MBA.
• The top and bottom don't match the middle gradient.

Second Image:
• /shrug

Third Image:
• I can't see this happening. Where does one rest their palms when they
type? I like how you changed the speaker holes. It looks like there are
small and many more holes like the picture in this post.

As I said earlier, nice mock. It's always nice to see people's ideas.:D:apple:

Maybe a waste of time.

I just made a few annotations to the image to clarify some points for myself. Most people probably already have their own ideas about what the pic represents but here's my thoughts. Yes, I'm new. Let the hazing begin. :(
