Hi,

I've recently bought an SSD adapter for my base A1502 and a 1 TB Samsung Evo 970. After upgrade and setup, my battery is draining fast. It is in good condition (93%) with only 215 cycles. I get 8 hours on my old SSD with Mojave, however with the Samsung Evo 970, I only get 3.5 hours on a full charge (Catalina).

Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this? Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

The Samsung drives are known to drain the battery more quickly and generate more heat.

There isn't much you can do to reduce battery drain other than keeping any open and running apps to a minimum.

Hi. I’ve flipped probably seven of these (purchased used, installed ssd, installed macOS, and sold). I’ve had very good luck with the Sabrent rocket. Battery life was a hell of a lot better than you’re getting.

Have you tried the Crucial P1?
Thinking of that one since it's the cheapest tbh

Thinking about the p1, the adata XPG or maybe kingston?
cheers!!!
