Any hard drive that has mechanical moving parts inside is going to make some form of noise, even though with some it may be very little. The Seagate drives for example make that "plunk" sound when the head parks. The Western Digital should be fine though and not too loud.

Uh, no. And I didn't have any noise with the 7200 RPM Hitachi I took out. Unless you're sitting in a perfectly quiet room, I highly doubt you'll hear any hard drive in your MBP.

thank you very much for advice.i am planing get 320 HD and get 4G ram.
i live in UK and this bits over here cost much more than in US. i have not found any good deal yet.. but i will def get them.. its my fers mac and i love it.
i have got IBM (lenovo) T60. very pleased with it but mac is much better..
