I just checked the FedEx tracking number and it says In transit Picked up from Shanghai CN! Anyone else have theirs ship from China? I am very curious to know and if you did how long did it take to get to you?

Yes, it's very common for Apple notebooks to ship from China. Shipping times vary greatly, but it should arrive before the estimated arrival.

my Santa Rosa MBP 15" (not custom configured either ~ as the local store was all out)

shipped directly from China in under 4 Days! it was very quick and came perfect! it made a pit stop in Alaska and somewhere else too.

😎

I don't think anyones Apple product has ever shipped from China.. that's weird

That's what I was thinking. It has been a while since I bought a computer from the Apple online store but I don't remember overseas shipping. I think I just assumed it would have already been in inventory in the U.S.

I guess this would be the cause in the delay when bumping up to the 7200 RPM drive.

when you order it, they have it made in China. Same with the BTO computers. A lot of laptop these days are made in China now, I cant think of a brand that isnt assembled overseas.

no wonder they are falling apart so easily.. they're made with crappy quality and fast workers..

it's probably much much cheaper to get it made there 🙄

what happened to the stuff, that used to be made in Canada and USA.. 😡

My powerbook was made in china and has not fallen apart. It's over 4 years old. So not sure if it's the 'crappy quality and fast workers' (love to hear some evidence that chinese workers are crappier than american ones) or because of poor design and apple scrimping on parts.

LOL when has anything good been made in USA? Most products you see are made in china

Apple has been doing this for a long time. I bought my Powerbook 3 years ago and it was shipped from China.

Thats the way things are today kitties, the last Mac to be made in the states was I believe a variation of the PowerMac G4.

They say delivery is 12 march strange if it is already in Europe. Shiped yesterday.

where in europe are you? it's still got to get from the main hub to a national centre - then a regional centre - then to you. they don't ship it super fast AND that date might be a little far ahead to avoid disappointment, i wouldn't stress about it dude.

Own any domestic vehicles... 🙄
