I think we have to expect a shift in the delivery date. My first Macbook (see my other posts) was already long on the way. If tomorrow nothing happens, then it will definitely next week nothing with our delivery :-(

I'm beginning to think you're right. Maybe they're tweaking the build process or they've finalised the next macOS version so they're holding things back a bit.

So all of the orders that were placed on mid late November may be shipped with some of the issues solved?

Yeah maybe. I bought the first generation Macbook Pro back in 2006 and ordered very early, mine shipped with a audible whine from the processor, as did many others. The offending models were all from the first few batches. We've seen two main issues reported on the new models so far:

1. the battery life not being as advertised
2. Graphics glitches.

The graphics glitches are apparently a software fix (as Craig alluded to in that email). The battery issues may be to do with the manufacturing process (as seen with the iPhone 6s recall). Although I'm unsure about some of the battery claims as Apple has a very specifically designed 'normal use', and as a software dev I never get close to that with compiles etc.

Do apple take payment authorisation for the full amount before shipping? They appear to have not taken the payment but authorised the full amount today but my status is still "processing items"

Ordered on the 6th Nov in Germany (15" 512 460) and my card got charged on Tuesday 6th December. Delivery 12-16.
No movement since then. Still processing.
I called Apple support today and they didn't know why. She Said the gap from payment to P4S should be 2 days max. Its 4 days for me now. Could't really help me but said she makes an internal ticket for further investigation.

I just got an authorization charge for the price of the MacBook Pro, but hasn't been listed on the credit card. Only an authorization at this point.

Ordered Nov. 20th. 15", 2.9/512/460
