Anyway, I'm feeling lucky, one of my free lucky dip lottery tickets bagged me £25 last night.

I'm on a roll.

I guess zhe NSA's resource interdiction teams are working double shifts to get all our European Macbooks patched before they arrive here ...

Original shipping was 17th - 24th, and it's now changed to 23rd-25th...I've never had a delay like this with Apple...oh well

Not sure this is correct since it shows that the US have no stock whatsoever in any store which we know it's not true
I just tried it myself and most US stores were green. Europe - all red...

EDIT: my mistake. After scrolling back across the Atlantic all stores in the US were red. Guess it's not really up to date.

These MacBooks take longer to get ready than a woman!

(That was a joke; I also take longer than a woman to get ready).

I think we have all given up hope of this week. Only if there were in Europe would they arrive tomorrow. And it seems they probably aren't. One thing I would add is that it doesn't seem to matter if it's a BTO or standard as nothing has shipped yet (which might give us hope they are all here already or at least on the way here and will be traceable once shipped again in Europe).

Just checked my order and guess what? Processing items
Apple, seriously.... New things are coming up - like TouchBar is dim, has not that good resolution, poor battery life in 13" model. I' m really close to cancel my order.

The longer this goes on the more I'm thinking about the ridiculous price tag and thinking of cancelling and making do with a macbook
I was able to get an impression of the MacBook Pro without TouchBar in a Cyberport Store here in Berlin. These things are just great - and not comparable with a standard MacBook. Way better keyboard, e.g.

Realistically though, they know that not many people are going to cancel, it's not going to affect them in the slightest. We are just a small subset of the Apple buying public, we don't have any impact and no one cares. Also they know that we don't have many more options unless we are happy to stick with a previous generation. I for one dont really want to do that, so if I do cancel, out of principle, then I would need to move to Windows I guess, and there is no go option there either. So we're stuck!

Still 24/11-1/12 here, ordered the 28th. Nothing went off my cc yet.
You can hope for an early delivery, but honestly if they say it can take until 1 december, you can't blame them for not sending early or even the 24th.

That is certainly true. I've used the non Touchbar version in the Apple Store and it really is nice and I love the keyboard.

There is literally no reason why they couldn't have done in the weeks and months leading up to this launch. Apple isn't some kind of independent technology startup business. They knew about the demand. They just chose to prioritize the American market, there really is no denying that. And I totally get why, it's their homeland. But it still sucks for the rest of us and we have the right to complain about it.

If they chose to prioritise demand then our estimates probably would've been later from the get-go. I have no insider knowledge but I just would not assume it's a decision, just we've slipped to the end of the window. They're different SKUs and different shipping routes, likely different manufacturing paths too.

How many times do we have to say this. It's not feeling bad because we've been out to the back for whatever reason, its that they set the same expectations across the world which is clearly not the case and is ridiculous.

Expectations and reality are often different. Why would apple give the same estimates if they intended to prioritise US shipments? Setting realistic expectations is good business 101.

The hysteria here is insane.

Absolutely agree that expectations and reality are very different. But as you put it, good business 101 is communication when reality doesn't meet expectations. That's the problem here.

Not when delivering within the stated window is entirely likely.

Do you think Apple expect us to not realise that the US have got theirs up to a week earlier than their windows, or that they can now walk into a store and get one, or that there's a good chance that people int he UK will be able to do that too before we all get our pre orders, or that the very concept of first come first served has fallen apart?
[doublepost=1479376180][/doublepost]And yes, it IS implicit implied that it is a first come first served system, by the fact they didn't state otherwise

Agree. It also looks very nice. And John Gruber was impressed with battery life after all. Yes, it's expensive, but thinking about the real-life usuage I am planning for it, non of those "drawbacks" and complaints I hear will affect me that much. I'm looking forward!

Fair comment. I was just looking at the MacBooks on the apple store actually which they deliver tomorrow... though if I change to the M7 processor the date range is only 1 day sooner than my macbook pro
