Not that Apple seems to care much, but I'm on my fourth year of waiting now for an upgrade. First because of the lack of a major processor upgrade, keyboard issues, and now because there isn't a non touchbar version. I tried working on one of those things for a week straight and that escape key was driving me NUTS.

escape is the least of the muscle memory issues, it registers all the way to the left so its pretty much in the same spot.

I do not get the “if I don’t use it a feature is a waste and should be dropped.” By tha argument why add an eGPU when it adds nothing but costs for many users?

Every device has features only some users find useful. I have a program that allows me to add custom keys to the TB. I use that to add shortcuts to resize the active window. Looking away from the screen has zero impact on my productivity. Personally, i’d like Apple to make it fully customizable.

YMMV

The TouchBar is the future of interaction with Apple portable computers and it should be embraced fully and loved wholeheartedly.

Crap - sorry - I'm still in my Apple PR Halloween outfit..

Well I love the touch and use it daily. I wish I could get an external keyboard with it as well.

Apple is very stubborn when it comes to the Touch Bar. They figure with all the expensive research and development that went into making the Touch Bar, they're going to shove it down your throat whether you like it or not.
Yet, we don't see even them embrace TB fully, as no other mac models have the TB. Some people can make the argument its for the high end, but the iMac Pro when it was released didn't have it.

I don't need an eGPU so I won't buy it, BUT, I have have the TB because its integrated into the machine. Its not just that I don't like so I won't use it. They removed a feature that was useful, and used by many people - the physical function keys. I get your logic, but its not that apple added something that was either optional or an added feature. It altered how many of use the laptop and for many it was a negative alteration.

Apple does not make anything to my knowledge that is fully customizable. I'd settle for windows support, even just to dim, or turn it off.

A bit off topic but I just got off the phone with Apple and I made an argument about my MacBook Pro which was bought upon release but took more than a month to arrive hence its just under 3 months old and they are bringing it to the higher ups to possibly get my MacBook Pro replaced with the new Vega GPU which if I an get 30% power increase- I don't believe in 60% power increase - would be ever so helpful with the line of work that I am in.

What was your reasoning for a replacement? Just the fact that you bought it 3 months ago? Also, will you pay the extra for Vega GPU?
