I find that to be quite strange.

Why? I know lots of people who have never used a notebook, only desktop machines with tray-loaders, or who have been using their trusty Thinkpad for the past 6 years and never had to use anything else.

A slot drive isn't a Mac only thing. It isn't even a computer only thing either.

Well outside of notebooks, the slot loader is quite popular in cars too.

I'm glad to see that the OP does indeed have a "complete" notebook! 🙂
