I'm going to hold out until the next refresh / update whatever and whenever it is, even if it is just an speed bumped Sandy Bridge. I want to get a New MBP when they are released and I couldn't afford it back in February. So now I'm ready. Hurry Up and RELEASE something APPLE!

You're going to have to wait a few months at least, I think that Apple is mid-cycle with the current MBP's.

Good choice, if you don't need it, don't buy it. Unless you are a student, hold out as long as you can because there are computers on campus to use anyway, but it's nice to have an Apple machine at your disposal for work :)

You said Commuter, & I'm not sure if you mixed that with computer student.

But in either case I'll answer both ways. The laptop I have no this asus, is a gaming laptop so it has a huge brick & it's quite heavy to lug around campus. So as far as commuting I'm not attending like a HUGE campus but it's a decent size so walking around will be native.

As far as a computer student, you are correct I'm studying network administration. Which they use windows computers for. But it would be nice as this is my first mac to be able to broaden my knowledge for my Operating Systems. That way when someone says hey I have a mac! I won't be like uhhh lemme google that for you. So it's not just the lightness of the MBP & the battery life I have other personal reasons for wanting it as well. But I have made my decision to buy in Sept. putting 8Gbs of ram a 128Gb SSD & the i7 in it will future proof me enough until I save for the next best thing!

Thanks guys for all your input, I check back on this thread daily though so feel free to toss out your alls opinions on the matter as well, considering it isn't september & theres much debating left to cover!
