Buy a laptop cooler. You paid more then 1k for the gear a laptop cooler for 35 bucks or so will fix the problem.

this is a lite duty one. Also try posting in Macbook pro not mac pro. there may be a better answer then my idea of a laptop cooler.

Yes I was looking into that I currently have a belkin cooling pad but it sounds like a jet when its on I might take it back and look for another

My 2007 Macbook Pro is over heating. Is there a software solution to it? Please help.

People can't try to help you when you give virtually no information. What do you mean by "overheating?" Is it shutting itself down while you're using it? Have you installed iStat Pro so that you can check the temperatures? What are you doing when it "overheats?" What speed are your fans running at?

Unless your computer is actually shutting down, it's not overheating. We can't know if the temps you're experiencing are normal or not without you giving more info.

lol its harder then it seems lol
MovieCutter speaks the truth. Don't do stupid #%&* (i.e. use your head, have some common sense, etc.) with your Windows PC and you don't have to worry much about viruses.

The only AV software I use for Windows these days is MS Security Essentials. Free from MS and is good enough in most cases.

FYI: you are less likely to get infected by malware from porn sites.

I'm sorry I find that 100% impossible to believe. Seeing how is there is literally almost no malware for Mac OS (and the stuff that does exist is either A. Patched or B. Only downloadable by installing a hacked version of iWorks.

Windows has over 1 million known pieces of malware including variants and roughly 180,000 viruses that do not include variants.
When it took Apple SIX WEEKS to patch a single Java Runtime vulnerability vector that Oracle patched back in February, your claim of "almost no malware for Mac OS" is unfounded bullcrap.

Those posts were from a year ago. It's not exactly an active discussion anymore...
