High Power Mode difference in his test wasn't huge... but odds are that changes if you're feeding it better optimized software. Premiere is faster than it used to be but it's always going to be slower than another NLE no matter what hardware you feed it. FCPX/Davinci is the real tell I think... so I hope someone does a nice test of that with High Power Mode on and off.
I doubt it. If Power Mode increases CPU frequency, this is going to help any software: optimized or not. There might be nuances but in this case the test resuts are underwhelming to say the least.

But like I said in my previous post, it wasn't a very "controlled" test. He switched from Automatic to High Performance Mode which insinuates that High Power Mode is available to the system if the task being executed demands it. Therefore, during his first export (in Automatic) it probably went from normal processing to High Power Mode very quickly. However, during his second export it started out in High Power Mode immediately, which probably accounts for th ~16 second gain. A maxed out 14" vs a maxed out 16" would give us a much better idea of how much High Power Mode improves performance.

I can **hear** the pushback in my views and...whatever. And I really do mean "whatever": I don't care about your supposed need for HDMI and SD slots -- most of you just think you need them. The Touch Bar was fine, if a little useless, and **full height** f-keys are 100% unnecessary and ugly.

Ugh. I just can't with these machines.

Everyone is crowing that "Apple is back" but these machines in no way feel like this is the correct take -- these machines are a huge step backward, and show that Apple has lost it design-wise and that the premium one once paid for the fact that, historically, Apple devices were orders of magnitude better than their competitors is **in no way** the case anymore.
You are a tiny minority. The vast majority of the customers who use these machines professionally as desktop replacements overwhelmingly complained to Apple for years about the cult of thinness that ended up with a flawed keyboard, the loss of ports, and the silliness of the Touch Bar replacing the function keys that are still heavily used.

If you want a thin laptop, they have a product for those needs: the MacBook Air

Anyone feels like fullscreen mode is wasted when using fullscreen mode? Could keep some info on there, not just make it black. Make white on black status bar for example, or project name, or CPU usage for FCPX/LPX, etc.
