Well today is the day for the picture.
You are right. I was going to post it, but then I was like "Nah forget it" because it doesn't really bother me at all. i see some of you might be interested so I'm going to post them anyways.
I would ask yourself

(1) Do you care enough?
(2) Is it affecting usage (i.e. is the magnetic latch not as strong due to this)?
(3) Will you ever resell your laptop?

If yes to any of these, take it to the Apple store within the year and get it fixed/replaced.

1. Not at all. It's not worth driving 45 minutes to my nearest Apple Store and plus, look at the photos: hardly noticeable. My iPhone made it looks much worst than it really is.
2. No problems occurring from it.
3. I am planning to keep this for 3-4 years (I learned Macs have no trouble living a few years) and I'll probably sell after 3-4 years to get a couple hundred bucks from it.

If anyone was interested, it was taken by a Samsung TL 225.

I know to most people it might seem risky, but my macbook pro was a little off as well and it bothered me enough for me to fix it myself. it was pretty easy actually. just loosen up the three bolts on each hinge and align it and then tighten them and problem solved. the only reason i took it apart in the first place was because my right hinge kept making a snapping sound everytime i opened or closed it and it really really bothered me enough to take out the hinge and grease it. so, no more snapping noise and no more missalligned screen. :D

the nearest apple store is 1 hour and 45 minutes away. so i said eff that to taking it there. i'm sure they would have hassled me into dealing with it and leaving. i'm good at taking things apart, as i've taken my previous macbooks apart many times and i have the tools to do it.

also, ifixit.com is a great resource for DIY manuals.

hello everybody, sorry for my english. I live in Spain.

i buy my macbook pro 13 at online store, and first was not aligned with base a lot about 3mm, so i change it. They send to me SECOND book, it has bad screen it was like a light white cloud there (like on bad TV) . They send to me THIRD BOOK :) it was perfect except one thing the LCD Panel was bad install in the case, left cornet was up about 1.4 mm then right.

SO THEY SEND to me 4º :) and it not aligned with base it's about 0.5mm.

i dont know what todo :) i think i keep it, but anyway this product cost to me 1145 EUROS and it's not perfect , and i lost about one month wait and change macbook's

As long as you're in the return period Apple will exchange it for a new computer. They do not repair anything until the return period elapses. Then the warranty takes over.

Can you link please which guide you followed?

I wanna fix it myself too, but i cannot find any good guide, how to align it by myself. Got all the screwdrivers i need. :)

Mine's abit like that as well, the lid kinda stretches abit longer than the bottom. Only a TINY BIT noticeable with touch.

P.s come to think of it, i took a closer look and mine looks EXACTLY like yours. i bought mine over a month ago. Doesn't bother me that much though, as long as everything runs.

I think its totally worth the 45 minute trip to get the screen realigned. The guys I've met up with at the Apple Store were really friendly about repairing stuff too.
