That's a pretty lousy res on the 13".

Sony Vaio Z can manage 1920x1080 on their 13inch model.

Not trying to to flame, just thought screen tech was one of Apples prides.
Apple has better screen quality, not necessarily higher resolution. Perhaps they don't think that 1920x1080 is usable on that size of a screen – not without resolution independence, for example.

HD on all models can't correct. Many people my age would have trouble with eye strain. I can't look at a 17" NMBP without getting a headache. I know many with welcome this but there is also a percentage of the market that wouldn't so I don't think that will be true. I had to sell my 27" iMac because it just hurt my eyes

MOAR info please...

How is the Intel Graphics card (discrete?) supposed to be?

Planning on a 15 or 17" if they do it right.

Up to 8GB on the 17"?

Another reason I doubt this is correct is that the white macbooks are still shipping just fine. There is no delay in them as you would expect if there were dwindling supplies from lack of production now.

Please give me some opinions

After about 130 DPI, the usability of the screen for anything other than watching videos is questionable. That 13" Sony has a DPI of 169.

so whats the point of the retina on the iphone and the wishes of a retina in the ipad?

Yes... Go for the new one... Just back it up on an external hardrive, and return it, then you can have the new one :D

Wake me up when Apple gets on board with the future and integrates Blu-Ray.

An HD screen with crappy worthless streaming media. Sweet!!!

I have a 17" with that rez and it is really too small for it to be viable. While it may be possible to have that kind of rez on a 13" screen, why would you want it.

- Better battery life : 12 hours on the 13", 10 hours on the 15"

Hmm, you'd think that would be the other way round (given that the 15" is larger therefore would have a larger battery)

The way iOS handles DPI is COMPLETELY different from the way Mac OS X handles it. If you look at an iPhone 3GS and then an iPhone 4 the amount you see on each screen will be the same. The image however will be much sharper on the iPhone 4 because the resolution is quadrupled with everything being drawn the same way it was before. Same would go for the iPad.
