March-May appears to be rather interesting. It seems a shame that Sony's mid-range 13.3 SB Series manages to get real graphics (Radeon HD 6470M) along with the same CPU i5-2410M.

The 6470M has just 160 stream processors and support for GDDR5, making it feel a bit anemic for such a premium line, but AMD has apparently introduced technology comparable to NVIDIA's Optimus that enables switching between the Sandy Bridge IGP and the dedicated AMD graphics. We hope to get a look at this in the near future.

the difference is the price. dedicated gpus are since a longe time possible in smaler notebooks. but this cost money.![]()
I hope this is the spec of a very very very low priced macbook, but I want a high end 13" notebook. The resolution is crap, I hope we will get better news tomorrow otherwise I am going to buy a 13" vaio with Full Hd and 1.4 kg!!! I can live with win7 its not too bad.![]()
I have a feeling Apple is going to use LightPeak as a reason if they keep the price range while having medicore specs. "New tech = more $$$"
Sorry to disappoint you but the Radeon HD 6470M is junk. Barely and I mean, barely surpassing the Intel HD 3000. Also consider this, Apple has more than likely tweaked the HD 3000 for performance. Just throwing that into the mix.It seems a shame that Sony's mid-range 13.3 SB Series manages to get real graphics (Radeon HD 6470M) along with the same CPU i5-2410M.

Core i5 on the 13"? I'm definitely getting one of these babies![]()

The resolution is horrendous. Jesus christ the 11" has better resolution ...
Survey says, underclocking. Also consider this, Apple has more than likely tweaked the HD 3000 for performance.
Well I guess my point is there really isn't a point of adding a "dedicated" GPU of such horrible quality in that Sony Vaio hence why it's a Sony. I bought a 13" MBP once and never againI'm not dispaointed in the slightest, the sony has the HD 3000 as well of course.
i think only the top 15'' / 17''... there are goog enough core i7 with 2 cores.I guess this just confirms we'll see i7 quad cores as the default processor for the 15" and 17" models. WOOT.
lol @ the dreamers who thought apple would push out a crazy $1000 base notebook.
i only have $1000 but i expect:
-GPU that can handle ALL of my extreme gaming needs!
-SSD!
-HD SCREEN!
-AND MUCH MORE!
get real (or try dell). this is a low end 13 inch macbook. specs look fine. if you want better specs, be prepared to spend more money.
