To reply to Diveactive, it is possible to turn off the subwoofer. If you run windows. Download equalizerapo and i recommend the peace gui for it. Assuming you've installed the cirrus audio drivers, open peace and then effects. On my 15 inch 2010 macbook pro the subwoofer is assigned to the rr channel (rear right) and you can mute it. Under macos this is not exposed (at the kext level i think) but under windows 4 channels are exposed. RL isnt connected to anything though. Sorry to revive an old thread
