you called them ? are you in US?? i am in toronto now..

I called two of them near Washington D.C. and a couple Best Buys.
The two Apple stores thought I was ridiculous "They just released them today"! Just like movie and video game releases on Tuesdays are available in stores, I thought maybe the MBPs would be too.

I'm going to wait till later this afternoon, call back to see if they are expecting a shipment...if not, ordering online.

lol,cause it not the body design update, so they dont care so much i guess....

Looks like 13" didn't change at all...I could be wrong though. I would hold out though, changes will probably come to that line in a couple weeks...

There are only small changes but there are some. CPU a bit faster at 2.4 GHz, RAM 4 GB standard, HD was 160 GB minimum, now 250 GB, GPU changed. Seems Apple has either been unable to get actual CPU power into the 13" or the little bastard is selling that well that they can continue with old CPUs for some time. No surprise that neither USB 3.0 nor HDMI etc. appeared...

Congrats Apple you have out waited me

Couldn't wait any longer :(. I was hoping to get one of these bad boys and dual boot (some of the software I need is Windows only and I need something faster than a core2 duo) but I have been waiting to upgrade since January and just couldn't do it any longer. Hopefully the Toshiba (with the specs I wanted from Apple ie Intel I7 processor 4 gig memory ect) that I ordered a few days ago with an will be good enough. Maybe in a few years when I'm ready to get another laptop they'll have actually shipped something.

Finally! Order placed online, but seeing as I'm buying it for my business (self employed), I went the cheque route, so I'll have it a week later than if I went down the path of credit card.

I've waited this long, another couple of weeks ain't going to kill me. ;)

About time! Surprised the 13" didn't get an i3 or something. But it's something. Does anyone really think they'd update them again with i3's this soon? It's not like they left them alone. They bumped the base RAM to 4GB, the base HD to 250GB and the video card not to mention the processor being 2.4 now so I don't see an update for the 13" coming again this soon.

I know what I'm doing after work today!

WHOO!

It's a little annoying that I can't alter the graphics card without bumping up to the high end 15 incher, but I guess it can't be helped. Now I know which one I'm after to convince the parents. 8D

I'm pretty happy with the update overall. I'll be so excited to get one.

Guys a little help..
I bought my 13 inch MBP 2.53 Ghz,250 GB hard disk on 8th April but due to the rumors i didnt open the box.:cool:
So i would be able to return it right without paying something for the restocking??And plzz can any one tell within how many days the new models are expected at Apple store!!???
Thanks in advance :)

Well, scratch what I said earlier about the Apple store not having them. I called back to see when they might expect shipment. He said at the moment they were recieving a few pallets. I'll be picking one up after work!

now I have to figure out a 15" with i5 or i7

Just ordered~~~

:apple::apple::)
* Ships: 2 - 4 Business days
* Delivers: 19 Apr - 23 Apr by Expedited Shipping
* Part number:

Configuration

* 2.66GHz Intel Core i7
* 4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x2GB
* 500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200 rpm
* SuperDrive 8x (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

* MacBook Pro 15-inch Hi-Res Glossy Widescreen Display
* Backlit Keyboard (English) & User's Guide

7200rpm is definitely worth getting. Don't go for the 5400rpm just because you have to have it to-day!? :rolleyes: You've waited this long, so just upgrade the shipping if that's an option. ;)

Getting an SSD is, of course, blows any 14,400rpm drive away. The fact that Apple carries a 512GB SSD is super impressive!

Now that the 13" didn't get an i5 processor, I hace very few options to upgrade, so I really need your help here.

The computer is used for everyday computing, plus office stuff (word, powerpoint, excel), video editing with FCE and photo retouch with aperture.

My options at the time are:

(1) New MBP 13" C2D 2,66GHz 320m graphics with 500Gb HDD

(2) Old MBP 15" C2D 2,53GHz 9400 graphics with 500Gb HDD

(3) New MBP 15" i5 2,4GHz 330m graphics standart

HELP!!!

BTW I have a tight budget, so for the 15" i5 wont be possible to buy the applecare, is it possible to buy it later, I mean like in 2 months or so?

Only one option: 15" w/ hi-res screen! (and I'd suggest antiglare)
Pro-Apps are a pain to use at 1440x900 (even more so at 1280x800).

Yes, you can purchase Apple Care anytime during Apple's one-year warranty timeframe.

Back to school? How?

I live in japan and the back to school event is earlyer then the US

What!!! That's the ONLY reason why I'm not buying my MBP yet. I want the free iPod!
So for you, the 32GB Touch was free? I thought it was going to be the 8GB for free... I already have a 16GB 1G, but I want a new one with more space (for free, of course!)
