MacBook Pro will not start up

hi

My MacBook Pro will not start up. It is stuck on the progress bar screen. I havde done the following:
-reset PRAM
-Reset SMC
-tried to start in safe mode (stil stuck)
-booted in recovery mode and run disk util on startup disk - all checks good.

What can I do and what is the problem?
