$1400 and it's got no touch screen?

BIG FAIL.

Couldn't agree more.

I will snicker next time I see one of those sucker hipsters pretending they do serious and important work on this fashion accessory with Apple watch on their wrist at my local Starbucks.

Nice trolling from a newbie. Im betting you will be banned within a week.

I don't think most people were looking for a laptop that was marginally smaller than existing Airs. the AIR itself is already small, light and super portable. shaving off 1/2lb and a few mm's doesn't suddenly make it more portable.

However, losing your ports, performance, keyboard is something that may not make this worth a $1500 laptop.

I think the level of dissapointment comes because they could easily have put a retina display in the MBA, swapped out one of the USB ports for USB-C and put in the force touch trackpad,

and still charged $1400 for it, and it would impressed the entire world. I would have bought one for sure. this is really what I think people were looking for

Posted from a fishing boat...have you ever tried a desktop OS with a touchscreen? It's a mess. Windows 8.1 barely manages to make it work with their touch-designed apps - doesn't work with regular programs. OS X would be all fouled up.

But if your technical insight is limited to checking a box that's not just irrelevant but counter-productive, have at it.
