Yeah - they didn't show up Tuesday, so the buzz will start to build again as we get close to next Tuesday. ;)

I think the serial item numbers is a good sign. Someone mentioned the same thing happened when the MacBook Pros were released in feb. 3 weeks prior serials item numbers were leaked.

In Texas most cities the sales tax is 8.25%. The lowest tax rate i have seen in the us was 7.25%. The prices in the Us apple store doNot include tax The average price you will pay in Texas for a MBP 2163.92 if you are not a student.

Dude, Delaware = 0%.
Pa = 6% outside Philly/Pittsburgh

Oh yes I am aware Apple put 3 stores just inside the Philly/Allentown area thus must charge 6.75% tax... But no Delaware store? Everyone in Philly goes to Delaware to buy expensive things, except cars you get hit later when you want Pa plates.

Well Monday and Tuesday at Town hall are open, unscheduled. They are the only two days with nothing... Even when there closed that's listed. Soooo... It could be nothing, could be something. Monday to setup, Tuesday for the event?

EDIT: Last time the calender was like this was July 28th/29th... Anything happen that day?

And sometimes I think Apple just toys with us to make us annoyed. I believe that they have everything set but they want to see a "couple more days/weeks" of "pain and suffering of waiting" from us Mac users.

Put us out of our misery! I wish Apple would be less secretive about their release dates

Then we get people complaining that they didnt wow us enough because we over hype ourselves.

It's a no win situation eh. But I think we have waited more than long enough. I am not getting my hopes up about next Tuesday but I would be over the moon if Apple decided to release :D

Can you really defy gravity?

I would also be that happy when Apple decides: "Ah, these people had enough pain. Let's release the new Macs now.". :D

The iBible 21:13

"And his Steveness turned to them and said, "Let there be Macs!" And so it came to be."

anyone else think this is the only change we are going to see?

the mini is gone haha :) but i would also be happy with only price drops. the macbook is currently a pretty perfect laptop and apple has corrected a lot of the early mistakes

damn your white/mysteriously disappearing text. The macbook is NOT fine. its gonna need at LEAST a spec bump, and a decent one at that. Yes it is pretty, but an aluminum redesign would make me (and others) probably need a new pair of slacks.

i also agree it needs a speed bump, and please apple, drop that combo drive!! but the externals of the machine are pretty good (although i would like some more USBs, but the pro will get those first)

100% with you on the combo drive! I changed my signature to what my research showed what the higher end macbook will probably have. how many USBs are on the current MB?

I expect these kind of price drops:

MacBook
From $999

MacBook Air
From $1,599

MacBook Pro
From $1,799

Mac mini
From $499

iMac
From $999

Mac Pro
At $2,599

2 x USB 2.0, 1 x FW400.

As someone who recently (about a month ago) bought 2 Macbooks for my girlfriend and her folks (which needed to be bought at the time, couldn't wait unfortunately) I'll be feeling rather stung if Apple not only increase the specs as they would naturally do but also drop the price... £1600 is A LOT of money to drop on 2 consumer grade laptops and if the price of 2 middle of range MBs drops to some where around the £1000 - £1200 mark I'll not be happy, purely for selfish reasons (around 400 - 600 of them!). In the long run though it would be good if Apple finally stopped charging the :apple: tax, or at least quite so much of it.
