As for touch screen I have that on my HP and after a week the novelty wore off it was only used in tablet mode after that and then I still preferred my iPad Pro for those situations. Not sure about OLED screen will have wait and see it in person I will admit the newer iPad Pro's look pretty good also expensive.

As for newer screen tech I have seen Mini RGB appears to be have your cake and eat it to if you have not seen this yet you may want to visit a BB Magnolia and give the new Sony Bravia 9ll a look.

Ah, yes, a touchscreen MacBook. The answer to a question nobody is asking... Now, where are all of the brown, diesel, manual transmission station wagons that internet car gurus think everyone wants?
People don’t know what they want until they see it.

YouTubers etc. don’t know it either. OMG why did they discontinue the iPhone mini? Why doesn’t everybody buy the iPhone Air? OMG live keynotes 😭😭😭.

Is just macbook with touchscreen and the price charge 3x macbook air and not even using pro or max chip or even ultra just regular M6.

Likely even Apple is fed up with how mini-LED backlit screens actually look in person.
OLED ain’t much better but maybe it’ll be an improvement over what’s available today
Ironically the macbooks actually have more dimming zones than any of the studio displays so it’s actually pretty damn close to OLED. Only problem is the blooming with some text on dark backgrounds.

I'm looking forward to a thinner, redesigned, OLED MacBook Pro. I never cared for a touchscreen, though

It does make me wonder what happens to the Pros. Are they just going to retain the 2021 design for years to come? Are they going to be redesigned with OLED and a thinner chassis but no touchscreen? What will differentiate the new Pro models from the Ultra?

If touch is coming to Macs, I expect it to be on more than the top end machine. Let’s face it, touch screen on laptops is not a feature that many professional users will use as much as their kids will (and then the parent will need to clean their screen). I don’t even like touching my iPad Pro screen.

This will be like the Touch Bar. Hyped as the next big thing, then people skip it for cheaper options only for the design to disappear with the next generation.

I’ve never owned a laptop with a touchscreen, only tablets. Seems awkward.
I’m sure somewhere in the setting you could completely disable the touch input completely.

For many other users out there, touchscreen laptop could be a godsend feature.

Even the mini-LED backlit display in my "old" 16 inch M1 Macbook Pro from 2021 still looks great to me. But OLED will definitely be an improvement even on that.

This makes 0% sense and I highly doubt it:

"The current MacBook Pro models are equipped with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, and Apple plans to use the same chips for the rumored MacBook Ultra."
Sure it makes sense. The M5 Pro and Max chips are pretty heavy-duty, so their useful lifespan can easily last for about two years, and by not spending resources on designing and manufacturing M6 Pro and Max chips, Apple can focus on developing the M7 series that will be much more optimized for on-device AI, especially for running local AIs that you can download onto on your desktop or laptop computer so you don't have to be one of the many people, myself included, using the services of cloud-based AI that uses so much of the power grid, land, and water.

The rumors say that the Macbook Ultra will contain the M5 Pro and Max chips, not the M6, since the M5 Pro and Max chips are significantly faster than the M6 will be. The M6 will be used in the base Macbook Pro, iPads, etc.

Gorilla Arm Syndrome.
Yeah I find no rumor of a form factor change to be one of the most puzzling things about this rumor. If it's the same old clamshell, the ergonomics will be bad (worse than the cantilever iPad Magic Keyboard which is decent/not terrible). That would make me conclude the touch functionality will be very limited--ie. not intended to be used often. Or maybe it's not actually a touch screen; maybe it senses gestures in the air in front of the screen. That way you don't have to reach as far, and no fingerprints on the screen. These are wild nonsensical mumblings, but that's where this rumor has driven me.

My prediction, it will be the first Mac with the ability to run iPad and iOS applications natively, no Xcode. This will be due to the fact that its level of security will be raised to the level of the iPad and iOS. MacOS 27 will default to a very iPad-like system so that those used to the iPad will be comfortable with it.
