Expect to see new macbooks in the first quarter of next year.
Which is completely against every rumor we've heard. (Not just a month difference like September-October.)

And at any cost.... the specs would be same for an upgrade now or in Jan since the montevina is the last update intel is providing its current Core 2 lineup! After this... its gonna be Nehalem in mid 2009!
Well I've got bad news for you. :(

The latest signs point to regular desktop and all mobile variants of Nehalem coming in Q4 2009 for quad-core and January 2010 for dual-core.:( It's also hinted that Sandy Bridge may be delayed for "sufficient Nehalem lifecycle." Plus, I think that these Nehalems are on 45 nm rather than 32 nm (which is first expected around that time) because otherwise I think Intel would have made a big deal out of "32 nm." So that would mean non-high-end Nehalems may not get 32 nm until closer to mid-2010.

We may see one more 133 MHz Montevina speed bump in mid-2009 before Nehalem.

Apple would never release a new MacBook without being able to claim that it's significantly faster than the old one. We're waiting for Intel here, not Apple.
