You obviously haven't shopped ebay in the last year. Ebay sales are totally skewed toward the buyer. The seller gets screwed no matter what the buyer says. The seller has no protection anymore. If the buyer files an immediate claim saying the item wasn't as described, no-questions-asked the seller not only has to refund the buyer, but has to pay return shipping.

A box of magazines is pretty heavy. I don't think any seller wants to have to pay to ship those back, PLUS refund the buyer.

I no longer sell anything on ebay. There is NO risk for the buyer anymore.

The thing I hate about eBay is that you can't leave negative feedback anymore. Now everyone goes around, bids up stuff really high, and then never pays. Then you have to wait 3 days before opening a claim and another 3-4 before you can close it. It took me about 2 months to sell an Xbox game due to 5 people in a row not paying up. You have no idea who will and who wont either. Everyone has 100% feedback nowadays.

I won't sell on eBay ever again because of buyer abuse. There's no protection sellers at all.

Am I missing something, why is the Apple store cheaper than these "deals"? Specifically the iMac 27" retina display.
*for some reason was logged into the education store. So, my info was skewed.

lol I wouldn't spend eight Gs on any damn computer. that's just insane!

Huh?? I don't understand that at all. You may not because you don't have the money or don't need the processing and graphic power of that incredible machine. But many others do, and 8K is something they are willing to pay for the increased productivity.

Just because you don't need it or understand it doesn't mean it's insane. Sheesh.

$1200 for a box of magazines is the risk eBay buyers take nowadays. No AppleCare option on those magazines, too! I'll pass. :D

Are you trying to say a seller might scam someone by sending them a box of magazines instead of a computer?

it's really not a concern. ebay is really good about protecting buyers. Plus you have paypal, your credit card, and you can usually screen people with their feedback rating.

I would greatly appreciate it if this kind of news could move to the roundup page. It's there for a reason, and for many people all these deals are irrelevant since we're not in the US. It also keeps the front page free of long articles that are basically ads.

$102 off ?

What an odd "even" number

I've heard of $100 off or so, but this is the first time someone said a figure between 100 and 105. It's a discount, but still this stands out like a sore thumb...

Now if every merchant did this to these "inaccurate" prices..... then it would be a no brainier.
