I hope the entire Preview markup tool and screengrab functionality is completely overhauled. The one built into Windows is 10x easier to use, and I've been a Mac Fanboy since the 90s. Apple made the process of taking screenhots, and scribbling on them, then pasting or saving it, so complicated. Thanks in advance if anyone at Apple is listening:)

As a classical music aficionado, I really, really hope there will be a Classical music app!

The Music app is almost useless with classical music. I am usually either looking for a specific work or works by a specific composer. If I end up with several options, then I am interested in the conductor, orchestra, and recording year. None of this is supported by the app, as no one is interested in knowing who’s the composer in popular music.

Also, the simplistic view of music as separate pieces does not work with classical music. If you take a concerto or a sonata, there are several movements (often named after their tempos, e.g. largo, allegro, adagio, andante, presto, etc.). Large operas have dozens of arias, recitatives, and choruses.

I am an Apple Music subscriber, but very often I find myself listening to music from other sources, even YouTube, as either Apple’s library is very small, or the search functionality is hopeless.
All of the points you mention are valid concerns, but really amount to deficiencies with the current search algorithm in the music app, which is terribly simplistic. I"m with you that the search capability should be greatly enhanced, just not specifically for classical music. An advanced search capability would be very helpful.

Live widgets on desktop. Live desktop, bring it back. Reduce the amount of “swiping around” that is now necessary to access widgets, control center, basically anything.
Reduce the footprint of the system, better diagnostics (permission repair). Also: fitness app, better home app, revamp Apple Music completely.

Better mail app.

Battery indication for connected devices (like iOS)

Revamp photo app completely (and allow to use multiple disks for the same library). Better yet: BRING BACK APERTURE!

OCR in preview app natively.

Better iCloud folder and files sharing.

Revamp APPLETV app (on all devices).

Much better AirPods detection.

Force PiP in Safari (for YouTube for instance).

Allow drag and drop from desktop when in “desktop” swiping mode.

Ah, as far as the current public beta goes, fix overheating touchId key when the mac is in sleep mode (lid closed or open).

That should do.

And stability.

Instead of adding new features maybe they could fix crucial functions such as breaking USB charging on my MBP 14” in Monterey 12.4 and the Mac waking up constantly instead of sleeping which are not unique to me. Beautiful hardware but iOS and macOS is riddled with bugs and frankly I’m getting sick of it.

With the lastest mac 12.4 I found that several of my contacts are missing using iMessage on the desktop. Seems odd. Is this just me or has anyone else found this to be true? I had the phone number, but had to add all the details back in on a few.

My wife's M1 MacBook Pro has been stuck on analyzing files in Photos for a week now. 24 hours a day on battery power. She can't import new photos until that is done. Maybe they can fix that. My M1 Mac Mini constantly reimports duplicate photos from my iPhone into Photos. Maybe they can fix that. Finder does not remember window locations/sizes or Workspace windows. Maybe they can fix that. We need a "Snow Leopard" release. No new features. Just fix all the bugs.

So, if they do go with Mammoth I predict that macOS 14 will be Woolly Mammoth.

Seriously, I'd rather Apple focused on fixing long-standing bugs and app bad behavior than bringing us new, and typically unasked for, features and redesigns.
Where would technology be if new features and redesigns required asking consumers for permission? Yes I get it that not all of that is desirable, but like art you have to try try again until it looks good and makes people happy.

Avoid iCloud like the plague.

We don't need anything new. We just want everything to work properly. Disk Utility and Music are two apps that are frustrating and getting close to worthless. Just smooth out all the rough spots, that's all I want. I'd like to be able to have Disk Warrior (or something similar) work for my peace of mind.
