I bet private equity firms are forcing this. They own a lot of stock.Going all the way back to Steve Jobs, Apple executives have been telling us that a touch screen on a Mac doesn't work. I wonder what suddenly changed their opinion.
What? LOL! Maybe you’re just not the target audience. Apple has always prioritized aesthetics and design over ergonomics and functionality. Remember the what orientation is it Puck Mouse? Or the great ergonomic Magic Mouse? The one and only single port MacBook? The flatter than flat Butterly Keyboard? The Antennagate because one more line would look ugly antenna?'Pretty' is for 5-year-old children with Crayons and a coloring book. I need a visibly functional GUI, not a pretty interface.
Less glass or I'll pass
This floating sidebar on the left will never stop bothering me, and why on Earth would you want the content area to be translucent and showing what's underneath?

"Siri, why are you still so dumb?"macOS 27 will reportedly include a full-out Siri chatbot that you can have back-and-forth conversations with
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That is one thing I hope doesn't happen for 27.This will probably be the version of OSX that finally puts the last nail in AFP's coffin. I still have plenty of users who prefer AFP over Apples implementation of SMB due to performance concerns. It's gotten better with all the tweaks going around in the community, but I would prefer it if Apples out of box SMB performance especially to Windows based shares was a bit more performant.
"Your 'And it goes back' alarm is set for 4am""Siri, why are you still so dumb?"
"Who are you calling dumb??"
"You, since you still can't consistently play a track in the Music app, or turn a light on or off, even when I speak my request very clearly."
"Well, Apple never promised those SPECIFIC features would be improved once I became a chatbot, so what are you complaining about?"
And it goes back and forth like this for a while
It can be a bug fix release, and the "major interface overhaul" would be going back to the Sequoia interface that they already have the code for. That’s the thing, I don’t see how this can be both a bug fix release and yet another major interface overhaul.
It still astounds me that Apple watched Microsoft do this same thing to themselves out of fear of the iPad and it was a decade long disaster. And now they want to do it to themselves for no reason at all.
