Hi to all the early bird tester of macOS 27 (beta). Quite sure many of you (if not all) are playing around with this beta release trying all the new features and what stuff is working and what’s not.

While you are deep in testing mode and using a Mac mini connected to an Apple Studio Display 2022, (not 2026) I would honestly appreciate if you find the time to check if this bug: Display fans run in sleep mode 24/7 got fixed with Golden Gate. By now it’s a widespread, but mostly not recognized long term bug. If it’s still there please let me know and best case send a feedback to Apple. As of today I have one single feedback from a beta tester and he said it is NOT fixed. Thanks !!!

I have the exact same hardware setup as you but wasn’t aware of the fan issue as it’s inaudible as mentioned. I’m just mulling over wether to update to 27 if I do I’ll let you know. It’s probably going to take a fw update from 17 and that’s even if Apple are aware of the bug.

Seems so odd that the MacOS has any control over whether the external monitor turns its fan on or off. Maybe it does, but it seems like a really odd design.
