As for the glowing logo, does anyone know if it's possible to simply remove the metal logo itself and the glowing part's behind it? The metal part just appears to be a sticker...
Now bring back dashboard (a non-flat UI version, please!) and I'll be happy. Until then, I got some old skeuo software running on my Windows 10 alternative laptop, right from the year 2010--a year I kinda miss as great things seemed to be happening for myself back then. Skeuo UI was at its peak (not overboard, either), phones had different designs (slider keyboards, smaller and larger screens, clamshell, etc, anything for anyone!) and software identity (you could also tell a Samsung from a Moto from the UI/UX aka TouchWiz/Motoblur, yes I was probably the only one who liked both. I like whimsy sorry!)
I also felt Apple gave up too soon on PowerPC--Look what MS could do with the Xbox 360 just using it. Apple really gave up too soon. Intel has never been a favorite of mine, I've always preferred AMD.
there's just nothing out there to even grab my attention these days like before. Not like how the first iPhone wowed the world in 2007, not like the first Samsung Galaxy Note did in 2011, at all. I mean, why pay more to 'upgrade' yet have less features than a phone from a decade ago? Why upgrade period? All phones today look exactly alike; you cannot tell a Samsung from a Pixel from a Moto at a glance, and there's no longer any variety. All huge bricks with hardly any buttons, no bootup sounds (like Macs, I miss the way Samsung phones played a few notes from Over the Horizon when turning on/rebooting) and zero UI design.
I read old threads from when iOS 7 was new, and the people in favor said 'skeuo is getting dated it was time for a refresh' and here we are still stuck in flat land. When will flat feel old to everyone? or are we forever stuck for it until the end of time? I miss using multi-touch to 'rotate' a volume 'knob. I miss coverflow. I miss chrome (not the browser!). I really despise Flat design. It's backwards. It was done in the 80s. Amiga WorkBench. DOS. BATmenu. DeskMate. Why are we rehashing design from then? Some apps are so bad today they're white with black text and a bottom row of icons. Before long we might be back to command lines the way we seem to be going...
