Apple should sell a stick-on bezel (for $80) for all those disturbed by the additional screen real estate.
I'd actually buy it if I had already bought a Notched computer (Which I wont), but you still would need to have a way of moving the menu bar down too and acting normal, plus limiting the mouse movement...

Because the Dell does not have Mini LED nor a camera of that quality.
The XPS15 can come with an OLED, which I'd take over MiniLED. I actually own an XP15 with OLED -- it's gorgeous. It's camera is only 720p though. (Which i don't use anyway, so the Mac's 1080p isn't a selling point)

OLED has issues with static content so it's not a good option for a computer display.
So they say, I've never experienced it, with either the Dell, or any iPhone. (it's OLED too) It's gorgeous as a computer display!

I think that was mostly in the past...

I already have Windows computers for work -- I happen to like running MacOS at home. (in addition to Windows.)
In that case either get one of the “old” M1 laptops or a desktop, as the MBA is rumored to get the “notch”…
And maybe think of “enhanced useable display left and right if the camera” vs “notch”… you get a full screen 16:10 underneath it so it is really additional display functionality

I already have one of the old M1 laptops (an MBA), but it very rarely gets used, it's just not enough for my workload. I

Mac mini Pro/Max/Ludicrous speed(g) is possible, and maybe even probable, but I can't order one of those yet. I also already have an Intel Mac Mini too. (i7, 64G RAM)

You guys keep saying that that there's added functionality, and all i can say to that is it wouldn't enhance anything of mine. If I need a bigger monitor for something, that's what i use, if not, eh. It's not that much space anyway!

Hi, no that is not correct. The old scenario never used these two new rectangles that are now in play. You would either have a visible menu bar, or in full screen, content could extend into/over that region. This menu bar and notch sits above all of that. Nothing is lost. Something is gained.
A lot is lost such as - a uniform screen design is lost for an ugly black rectangle. Also functionality wise - What happens to the mouse cursor when it approaches the notch? Does it disappear or do you have to move the cursor around? What happens to the notch if someone uses Windows or Linux?

The mouse cursor disappears behind it.

The ugly eye sore NOTCH is going to be on all the line up of the Macbook Pros for another 5-6 years...
