Wow all great features!

25. View File Path

Regarding this one, I really wish there was continuity in terms of what operations functions keys like Command, Option, and Control perform. It’s getting way too difficult to remember all the different permutations within different apps.

Great feature set but one has to be aware of all the bugs Monterey introduced as well:
- broken tap to click and several gestures
- broken Bluetooth PAN
- memory leaks which result in app crashes
- broken Quick Look
- and the best one: bricked laptops (which was recently fixed)

Still worth upgrading?

So what does networkQuality connect to?

Without knowing what endpoint is measured, the number produced can only be used in a relative way (like "today 'quality' is 10% higher than yesterday")

The article states 20 are highlighted in the video. If you click the link at the bottom for the full article, it lists all 40.
This is the true poweruser tip in this entire article.
After pressing "Show full article" one must scroll to the bottom and click another link for full article!

My least favorite "feature" is how laggy Safari is now. It's literally terrible and I can't figure out what is going on. Seconds pass by before it registers clicks, sometimes it doesn't register clicks at all, and scrolling is sometimes updated at seconds per frame, not frames per second.

For context, I have an 8-core i9-9900K, 64GB RAM, Vega 48 8GB. It's no M1 Max but it's plenty beefy. Have switched back to using Chrome for the first time in years and it's completely normal and fluid and great. I just hate using Google crap along with the hit to battery life, but I primarily use a desktop nowadays so it's ok. However, I'm already missing all the Safari integrations, from iCloud tabs, to autofill from messages for text codes, to my hundreds of stored passwords in Keychain, to Apple Pay.

Was hoping to investigate this more over the weekend to figure out the cause, but the weather is gonna be so freaking nice for December that I don't think I will! Anyone here have any thoughts about this or find a solution for themselves? Is this common or no?

This 'laggy-ness' is the reason I moved to Edge and run the Safari Technology Preview. If I run the regular Safari it's responsiveness is ANYTHING but...

It's a sign of poor industrial design (and woefully poor communication with a product's users) when it takes a 3rd Party to find and explain a product's features.

Changing mouse colors leads to memory leaking...just a heads up to those who attempt it. Hopefully fixed in future updates.

Edit your wallpaper. Put a black strip across the top.

Called it:

In System Preferences, change the desktop background to a solid light color. Then in General preferences, change between light and dark modes. Notice that while the dock changes color, the menu bar remains light even when set to "dark" mode. While in dark mode, click on any menu and notice the light colored menu bar with dark menus. The proper solution should be for Apple to make the menu bar color consistent with the light/dark mode setting like the menus and dock, not telling people they are using the "wrong" desktop background.

Not only can you read and copy the translated text, click the play button and you can get macOS to say it out loud to you so that you can better understand the verbal pronunciation.

What's the easiest way to record the translated audio as it plays?

iPad Pro mic lets you record as it speaks. Use a notes app.

The easiest way could be use Apple Watch to record sound as it plays on another device
