So can someone confirm. Will this erase content and settings work on a MacBook without T1 or T2 chip?
Yes. It will work on all M1 Macs (which don't have either T1 or T2 chips. 😉

T2 chip is there for last few generations of Intel MacBook so it should still work.
If it does not, a good old fashion secure erase of the whole hard drive can do the trick just fine.
