macOS reports external ssd's "not solid state"?

Sonnet's case is very tempting.
Overpriced for me and old already (pcie gen3).
But so is OWC, where are gen4/5 or 4-lane cases?

The spec on Amazon says it is SATA (probably wrong). But the OWC page says NVMe https://www.owc.com/solutions/envoy-express. It is not a high speed Thunderbolt case, but is faster than USB 3.x gen2.

Meaning gen4/5 or/and 4-lane config?
