  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 15 Sequoia will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.

Macs Fan Control still borked in this update. Everything else I use seems fine so far.

AltTab has stopped working for me with b3. It always complains about lack of permission to record the screen, although I have tried removing and readding it to the privacy settings with the permission enabled.

same issue with CleanshotX.. it was there in b2 also.

Since the first Beta, when I open the Contacts app, no iCloud contacts are displayed. I can see the contacts on my iPhone and iPad (iOS18 beta) but not on the Mac. If I try to add a contact using the Contacts app on the Mac, then the app will crash.

I reverted back to macOS Sonoma and the Contacts app worked perfectly. Once I installed the Sequoa Beta back, then the behavior mentioned above repeated.

Anyone else?

Window snapping, centering and all that jazz is broken in beta 3. Does not take dock into consideration and windows do not "snap out" of the snapped state.

They seem to have tweaked the privacy and tracking blocking algorithms so that Cloudflare Turnstile and other captcha mechanisms now work again! This bug was really blocking me and forcing me to use Chrome for visiting certain websites.

Since yesterday on Beta 3. I find that Apple developers read the feedback. Like with Sonoma beta testing, I've been giving them a detailed feedback on areas that somewhat troubled me, the Charging on hold: Desktop Mode option, and that I cannot log in to some normal web sites, while Opera could. I've already noted the changes in the beta 3 release. Apple developers had taken action, positively!

Looks like I can now import passwords into new Passwords app. Was that something I missed on the previous build or is this new?

No issues for me using iCloud contacts on Beta 3; I don't recall having any issues with the previous Betas either. I was able to see my iCloud contacts, and also able to add an iCloud contact.

Displayport connection to my 49" monitor did not work anymore during installation and after installation of beta 3, I was wondering if the installation had failed or something.
Finally plugged the hdmi cable and then the screen worked. In the end I had to connect my monitor using a 40gbp USB-C cable to get my full 5120x1440 resolution instead of my Displayport connection from my QUUGE docking station.
This was on a mac mini m1.

Did you reboot your Mac after the update?

Yes, it rebooted by itself then it hanged there doing nothing with nothing on the screen, I thought it had crashed or something so I rebooted into repair mode and reinstalled the beta 3 from there.
Then it did the same thing so I let it hang longer then I had the idea of plugging the hdmi cable instead and then I saw that it was waiting at the login screen.

Weird. Mine shows the RPM, but the fans do not actually turn on.

Yea, running newest version.
Have you tried letting it run in "Automatic" mode?

Another option is to track down various files/.plist/docs/.log associated with it and trash them one by one and see if you've got a corrupt file.
If you go this route I'd quit the app, trash a particular file, launch it, tedious process but may yield results, also I'd leave it in "Automatic" mode while "testing".
Or just nuke all files associated with it and see if that works for you. I'm leaning to a corrupt file bc others are running without any issues.
These are all the files visible and invisible that I could find.
Im sure you know you have to quit the app "before" deleting any files associated with it.
Hope you get it figured out.

No, what I meant was not the rebooting by itself while installing an upgrade, but did you manually rebooted the Mac after the upgrading was finished and after you had logged in? When the upgrading process is going on, the Mac screen will go black, sort of restart a few times, but once the updating is finished, it'll show you the login screen. That shows you that the upgrading process is over. That whole process takes about 20 minutes. But, you have to manually restart, that is, reboot the Mac to get everything settled. Also, while upgrading the macOS, you must unplug all external devices. And, after manually rebooting the Mac, you can plug all those back.
