Safari app:

New Drag to Reorder option to customize your Safari Start Page. Could someone confirm this is new in beta 4?
Screenshot 2024-07-23 at 15.03.14.png

Passwords app:

⌘+shift+P shortcut for Passwords in the menu bar has been removed. Hopefully it's just temporary.

iPhone Mirroring app:

App now has three window sizes: smaller, actual, larger.
Still no way to access CC or NC.
⌘+W shortcut can no longer be used to close Safari tabs and tabs in other apps. Now it closes iPhone Mirroring app. Hopefully it's just temporary.

  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
  • Screen sharing not working in Microsoft Teams (since Beta 1, still an issue in Beta 2).
Additional Notes
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 15 Sequoia will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.

Is it just me or is it a known issue?
Whenever i try to add an album to my apple music library on my M1 mac, the app crashes. This happens to me since beta 3 and beta 4 not solved it. I can add individual songs but not albums.

Did you actually test the shortcut in iPhone Mirroring app? Because that's what that bullet point is about.
if iphone mirroring is the frontmost app, ⌘+W closes it... as it should be. if safari (for example) is the frontmost app, ⌘+W closes the current tab. or am i missing something?

I'm not talking about Safari app on Mac. I'm talking about Safari app on iPhone Mirroring.

In previous betas, if you opened Safari tab inside iPhone Mirroring app, ⌘+W shortcut would close the Safari tab. This, IMHO, is a better behavior.

In beta 4, you're no longer able to close Safari tabs inside iPhone Mirroring app using keyboard shortcuts.

@iAppleOrchard

Please do not delete my entire original post (that took me time to refine) only to replace it with yours. WikiPost is there to add, edit, NOT delete all and paste something else. Your post is available at #3.
Actually, I think iAppleOrchard's version should be restored. The way the post is now breaks tradition with regard to every other "whats new" beta post in this beta cycle, and honestly it looks awful having the main template be at post #3 instead of serving as the primary post.

I prefer sniffies summary, instead of the same wall of copy & pasted text that adds nothing new.

New "bug", when you run a command inside VS Codes terminal (eg, npm run dev), now any processes spawned appear in your dock!

Anyone have W6800X Duos on a 2019 Mac Pro want to comment if the startup random kernel panics are solved?

I shifted those cards to my other machine (Sonoma) because the issues were so bad.

It was reported to Apple but the release notes on B4 mentioned nothing.

Since this update IINA player is causing beach balls very often while watching a video and doing anything else at the same time. The video stops but audio not. Same for Elmedia player what I tried as a substitute. Never had any problems before with IINA player in any beta of macOS 15.

This doesn't happen when videos are played in Quicktime.

Somehow this setting just appeared back and the possibility to open unsigned apps by a clicking on a confirmation that appears in system settings after trying to open them, without having to use that xattr command in Terminal.

It had been gone since a while. Don't no exactly when, noticed it first in Beta 3.

P.S.: Of course I had disabled some security settings before, a while ago.

2 things I've noticed:

• Screen Time control panel is accessible (it didn't open in the last beta for me)
• Time Machine backing up again on my NAS (this could be a coincidence, but I could not get it to back up in the last version, tried a ton of troubleshooting stuff including restoring an earlier snapshot on the NAS to no effect, and after updating it suddenly works)

Teams seems fixed.

Also working for me too, I did a 1 hour screen sharing and no dramas at all. Happy days.

Edit: One thing I couldn't do was record a meeting. I ended up using Quicktime recording to do that.
