Additional Notes
  • This is not currently usable on a day-to-day basis and certain apps may not work. To see those apps, you can check this thread.
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"

Believe it or not, after deleting those 2 rosetta folders (as in previous betas), update is showing.
After that, you can restore them from trash.

I have been unable to install any update since Beta 1. Deleting Rosetta does nothing. Tried a virtual machine. No updates. Tried a separate partition, no updates. I am terrified for the release. Am I gonna have to update a full version every time?

If you download and install the full version, Mac OS goes into update mode and does not perform a full installation.

If you have Rosetta 2 installed and are not seeing the update... If it is like previous beta drops, the update should appear within the next day or so, whenever Apple publishes the Rosetta 2 package as well.

What I've noticed:

- The default Tahoe wallpaper now animates properly
- The Macintosh HD icon has been updated to match the style of the Time Machine drive / Network Drive icons.
- There's a new animation when you use expose to show the desktop - the menubar now fades into focus in front of your window (see video)

Dictionary's icon in the Dock and Application Switcher is not correct on my M1 14" MacBook Pro. It is right in Finder and About Info in the app. Is anybody else having this?

The background material of certain Menu Bar items that were previously glass, like Weather and Wifi, is now a new matte-opaque, similar to macOS 15 but whiter and allowing slightly more detail comes through. Notifications also seem to have this new setup.

In other words, they're removed the glass backgrounds for these items. So now notifications don't even look like they do on iOS 26, there's two versions of notifications across this "unified" OS.

The Weather/Wifi dropdowns did need some work to make them more legible, but hopefully this matte background doesn't stick around. The glass was cool.
