much more fluid
the irritating Safari scrolling bug is gone for now
sidebar on safari still broken in full screen view
I couldn’t use Safari since beta 1 so I don’t know, which irritating scrolling bug it’s about?

Two bugs from B4 have been fixed:

1. Calendar didn't sync to iCloud unless System Preferences was open
2. Contacts didn't sync to iCloud

Two minor bugs from B4 not yet fixed:

1. Time Machine menu bar icon doesn't show after reboot until I open System Preferences / Menu Bar
2. Shortcuts menu bar icon doesn't stay in position after reboot

I can't remove the default icon I have for the drives, but from what I see, I don't think the new icon is worth it either. It's horrendous. The one I use nowadays is incredibly more beautiful in my opinion.

It is. Honestly the new disk icon is a bit too… simple? generic? I’m not sure that’s the word, because yours are generic and simple but they look good. It’s like… it was designed by someone who didn’t care at all?

I've experienced no major hiccups with these betas so far (touch wood) and I'm using it on my work machine - I did make sure of backups and checked that my most important apps would work first though. The apps that are down for me are Default Folder X (there is a beta for Tahoe on their website), and Bartender but these aren't critical to my workflow - I can get by without using Bartender to be frank, but Default Folder is a must once compatible. I have noticed on Beta 5 that my Adobe apps are loading a lot faster now.

No matter how many times I disable it, the keyboard input icon keeps reappearing in the menu bar. I only have one keyboard layout enabled (U.S. English), so this icon serves no purpose. I assume this is a bug and not a setting that I'm overlooking. Anyone else seeing this icon in their menu bar? It also happened in Beta 4 and I was hoping it would be fixed by now.

i had a bug where scrolling in safari was behaving similar to when you have a hair on your touchpad: was not fluid, was stoping all of a sudden or by itself going to the bottom , it was happening only in safari so it was nothing mechanical, Chrom was fluid as always. With b5 scrolling in safari is again correct

/not sure if it was only me, but I had it 100%

it is a never ending circle:
-5 years we go towards minimal icons
-5 years we try to get rid of all those empty and oversimplified icons
rinse and repeat

This happens to me at random. I just Command drag it off the menubar.

  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
Additional Notes
  • This is not currently usable on a day-to-day basis and certain apps may not work. To see those apps, you can check this thread.
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 26 Tahoe will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.
  • macOS 26 is officially supported on the following devices. If your device is not listed below, it has unfortunately been dropped by Apple. Any efforts of trying to get your Mac running macOS 26, including bugs should be discussed in this thread.

I installed Beta 5 yesterday and noticed alarms still did not trigger properly when the display sleeps. The workaround to keep the display on with brightness off is helpful but not ideal. Anyone else found any better fixes?

If you set up 2 widgets of FindMy each for a different person it will show the same person in both widgets and you whatever you do both returns to show the same person in each widget….this bug is on both macos and ios beta 5

There are issues with the menu bar whereby it doesn't seem to be permanently saving some changes, so each reboot resets some stuff.

My two issues are (1) the shortcuts icon always repositions itself at the end of the menu bar regardless of where I move it to and (2) the Time Machine icon won't show until I open the menu bar settings (no need to do anything, just open that settings page and it re-appears).

Feedbacks haven't been collated (i.e. mine show no similar reports). I'll close mine and open a new, more generic one relating to the menu bar, if beta 6 doesn't fix things.

Resolved Issues in macOS 26 Beta 5
• (Beta 5) Resolves an issue where a blank window may appear during Platform SSO
registration.
• (Beta 5) Keyboard focus no longer moves out of the password field when changing the
Kerberos SSO password.
• (Beta 5) Mac computers using Automated Device Enrollment cannot skip network
setup.
• (Beta 5) FileVault is correctly enabled when using deferred enablement at next login.
• (Beta 5) The allowExternalIntelligenceIntegrationsSignIn restriction correctly restricts
ChatGPT sign-in.

Beta 5 seems significantly less stable than beta 4. MacBook Air M3 16GB Ram. Using insta360 Link 2 and Link 2c camera's with the latest build of the insta360 controller. The virtual camera, and the preview video function are not working. Confirmed with insta360 support.

Believe it or not, after deleting those 2 rosetta folders (as in previous betas), update is showing.
After that, you can restore them from trash.

Seems even to be the case with the 15.7 RC. I haven't seen it yesterday, 2-3 hours after release. It downloaded later while I was sleeping. Also the full installer for that version is the 15.6 final. Very strange.
