It’s one of the ugliest bugs I’ve had in a while. The worst part is that there doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to it - sometimes it crashes, other times it’s fine. Number of tabs, what website, what other applications, none of it seems to make it better or worse.

At least it boots back up quick enough, but wow… hoping they fix this with B4/RC this week.
I tried to replicate this bug in 26.2 beta 3 and was unable to reproduce it.

(Always installed with full-installer, maybe that helps?)

I really dislike these big shadows. I wanted them to make them less prominent, instead, they have been increasing them....

This right here shows exactly why Liquid Glass is totally not fit for purpose.

Dev conversation:

Manager "What have you been working on today?"

Dev "This."

Manager "I can't see anything?"

Dev: *adds shadow*

Manager: "Brilliant!"

Check your extensions. I had the same problem and the culprit was the extension Noir but there could be more interactions behind this issue.

Maybe the full installer helps, could give that a shot for next time.

I am also not able to replicate it on demand, it just happens sometimes. I can attach a video if we don’t get another beta today and I have it occur again.

The one thing I will say is that it is usually when I close an inactive/not focused tab. That’s the only pattern I’ve noticed.

I believe I’ve submitted at least ten bug reports on this very issue since I first encountered it hahah Let’s hope we receive a new beta release today, and this issue gets fixed.

I don't know if this is new or not but you can now press space on a sound file to preview a listen. Of course it only knows the format Apple deems worthy

Seems like macOS 27 is going to be like Snow Leopard when they drop Intel support and clean up the code/refine performance.

Well hopefully they don't screw us Intel folks with the final versions of macOS 26, since I remember Leopard vividly on the G5 it wasn't that great lol

Very repeatable for me. It's closing a tab that isn't the last tab in the list. You can close the last tab, no problem. But if you click the X on any tabs in the middle it crashes. You can close a tab by right clicking on it or using the keyboard shortcut and it's fine.

Filed a bug report with direct pointers to the exact issue in "[UnifiedTabBarLayout _computeVisibleTabBarItems]"

Strange, it works here. Do you perhaps have any plugins/antivirus software in common?

Another possibility: on the computer where I'm testing Tahoe, I'm not connected to iCloud... meaning it doesn't share open pages with other devices...

Tried it with all extensions off, nope - still does the same. iCloud is on yes.

Technology Preview doesn't do it - it does share a big though where scrolling tabs makes the bar disappear which is equally as annoying.
