Does the Liquid Glass Dock look a bit different, or am I tripping?
It seems they are constantly tweaking it in places. For example the search box in Settings seems to have more blur below it already in 26.4.1, IIRC this was different in earlier versions.

Yeah I can confirm mine now does this as well.

I’m just saying this is the kind of thing they should put in the release notes. It’s a change to the meaning of a status light.

The real question is why did you dislike my post? And apparently you wanted to dislike it so badly you took a few minutes to remember how to do it.
Did I? My bad, it was actually for second post down after yours for reasons that are obvious to me. I wholly agree, that they need to announce stuff like that. Fixed! 🙂

Is anyone else having an issue where macOS screensavers stutter and don't play smoothly (i.e. landscape and cityscape screensavers)? I've seen this issue for a bit with previous versions too, but it doesn't look fixed in 26.5. I'm using a 14" MacBook Pro - M4 Pro.

+1 from me.
26.5 is vastly more stable than 26.4.1, resolving the non-stop crashing with the Postbox app that started in 26.4.1 ... and also some fixes to the Contacts app (less flickering). So definitely a huge improvement on my side.

At version 26.99 I will reassess. Until then, no effing way. An update is practically bigger than the OS itself? Yeah, Apple has lost their way. Sequoia FTW!
Mine was barely bigger than iOS 26.5 on my 15 Pro. I find it rather strange that across all OSes 26.5 is either rather small or decently large for no reason at all.

Apple today released macOS Tahoe 26.5, the fifth major update to the macOS Tahoe operating system. macOS Tahoe 26.5 comes seven weeks after Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.4.

Mac users can download the new software by opening up the System Settings app and navigating to the Software Update section.

macOS Tahoe 26.5 adds a Suggested Places section to the search interface in the Apple Maps app. It also lays the groundwork for ads in the Maps app, which are coming this summer.

The App Store is also getting a monthly subscription option that will let users pay a lower price on a monthly basis, but agree to pay for a subscription for a 12-month period.

The update also likely includes several bug fixes and other under-the-hood performance updates, but no new features were found during the beta testing period.
