Not happy to see ads. Overall it looks like a small update. Will update my Macs in a couple of days time.
If only there was an area where Apple could put notes about the release. Maybe they could even call it something descriptive like "release notes".I sure wish they would announce stuff like this.
And adjusting the volume in ⅓ increments when holding shift. When I mirror to my TV each blip is 6 notches on the TV and it's so frustrating that Apple had - and then removed - this feature.I want them to bring back the slow motion window if I hold shift while clicking it
They definitely tweaked transparency in places.Does the Liquid Glass Dock look a bit different, or am I tripping?

It seems they are constantly tweaking it in places. For example the search box in Settings seems to have more blur below it already in 26.4.1, IIRC this was different in earlier versions.Does the Liquid Glass Dock look a bit different, or am I tripping?
Interestingly, when you hold Shift and then hit the volume up key (F12), the volume will change without producing the audio feedback (blips?).I never knew about that one!
Just wait a few days and the smoothness will return to how it was on the previous buildI might be imagining it, but I feel like my M5 Pro is feeling a smoother.
Did I? My bad, it was actually for second post down after yours for reasons that are obvious to me. I wholly agree, that they need to announce stuff like that. Fixed! 🙂Yeah I can confirm mine now does this as well.
I’m just saying this is the kind of thing they should put in the release notes. It’s a change to the meaning of a status light.
The real question is why did you dislike my post? And apparently you wanted to dislike it so badly you took a few minutes to remember how to do it.
Maybe just don't assume and do a little simple search yourself, here's the first hit on "apple.com macos 26.5":Ads in Maps and no security fixes?
I think I'll skip this one.
It does, I believe it will stop with macOS 28 as announced.Want to make doubly sure of one thing before I update: Rosetta still works, right?
Is anyone else having an issue where macOS screensavers stutter and don't play smoothly (i.e. landscape and cityscape screensavers)? I've seen this issue for a bit with previous versions too, but it doesn't look fixed in 26.5. I'm using a 14" MacBook Pro - M4 Pro.
Mine was barely bigger than iOS 26.5 on my 15 Pro. I find it rather strange that across all OSes 26.5 is either rather small or decently large for no reason at all.At version 26.99 I will reassess. Until then, no effing way. An update is practically bigger than the OS itself? Yeah, Apple has lost their way. Sequoia FTW!
I also noticed that with the MagSafe 3 cable, the charging indicator will now turn green when charged to the optimized limit. credit: https://developer.apple.com/forums/thread/822390?answerId=886137022#886137022
Apple today released macOS Tahoe 26.5, the fifth major update to the macOS Tahoe operating system. macOS Tahoe 26.5 comes seven weeks after Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.4.

Mac users can download the new software by opening up the System Settings app and navigating to the Software Update section.
macOS Tahoe 26.5 adds a Suggested Places section to the search interface in the Apple Maps app. It also lays the groundwork for ads in the Maps app, which are coming this summer.
The App Store is also getting a monthly subscription option that will let users pay a lower price on a monthly basis, but agree to pay for a subscription for a 12-month period.
The update also likely includes several bug fixes and other under-the-hood performance updates, but no new features were found during the beta testing period.

So far so good... Printer issues seem to be much better and overall better performance than 26.4.1..I hope you're right... 26.4 completely messed up my printers. I hope I don't regret this.
I spoke too soon on the printer fixes.. .Augh...So far so good... Printer issues seem to be much better and overall better performance than 26.4.1..

Bonjour won't find existing printers. I have to locate it using the Ip address. It happens on my Mac Studio & MBA. Definitely a Tahoe thing which started with 26.4 - HP printer basically new. What's going on with printing for you?
This something with old printers? New ones?
