”” jailbreaking “” the teams never showed there cards until release so the “jailbreak” didn’t get patched should maybe think as OCLP the same . If they released it during betas it could be patched in the next and so on the game continues. (My opinion of course). I’m not saying that’s how OCLP works just an example of why they shouldn’t show all there cards early on.

Hello Lucky, how's your iMac 14,3 working with Tahoe?
Are USB, Ethernet, and sound working for you?
Everything's working fine on my 14.2 iMac.
It's just a shame that Nvidia Kepler doesn't have full graphics support, which makes it less fun to work with Tahoe.
Hi @Oxygen-X1!
I also have a 14 2 iMac and after six months with Sequoia I went back to Sonoma since I was very annoyed that in Preview, with Sequoia, the Histogram and the Levels and auto Levels did not work (the image disappeared) and AirPlay did not work if I transmitted YouTube App videos to the Mac from my iPhone.
Can you kindly tell me if this works well with Tahoe? Thank you very much

Whatever the case may be, while we are holding onto the idea to squeeze a few more years of life out of the machines we have in front of us, the end of Intel Macs is definite and is already reality. Hardware and software wise. And putting Tahoe on this machine for instance doesn’t actually make sense anymore from a performance point of view unless someone at OCLP finds a way to switch off all the unnecessary processes in the background.

Compare that effort to the few hundred bucks you can spend on an M1 or M2 that would run Tahoe natively. Even those become obsolete in one or two years time. But hey I would happily use a working OCLP 3.1.0.

We have them. Where to put them? Using them is conditional. I also wrote that it is not very productive and not very pleasant. They got offended and complained. Most have machines on Apple silicone. This fuss is nothing more than curiosity.
Once I gave up on a hackintosh because I got tired of asking. Now the developers of the OCLP are forcing me to ask. So soon I will throw out all the old junk, do not doubt it.
But for now we are having fun.

You're not forced to ask, you're choosing to ask instead of choosing to wait and see. There's a clear distinction there.

Anyway, it makes no sense whatsoever to release patches for a beta and then possibly have the next beta pull back the progress made with patches that aren't even fully ready (development happens during the whole beta period) by changing something and this is why OCLP releases at minimum are targeted for stable macOS releases, or possibly even longer depending on how complex the patch process is.

All the relevant information you need to know is in the Github post and it will release when it's ready. There is also older macOS, Linux and Windows to use if you think the project is taking too long, nobody needs to be on Tahoe beta.

I’m happy to save 200 bucks but at the moment I’d run iOS 18.6 and sequoia for a few more years if it was the only way to keep perfect sync across devices . I’m not in the need for a new Mac just to use the latest and greatest. Given the cost I can’t justify a new device yet (even at a couple of hundred).

T26B7 is on the way OTA.

Edit: Easy update, sleep still does not work, so I rarely use this test volume. The mouse is erratic with native apps, but fairly stable with Firefox. Location services is on and appears to work with weather, which does stay open now, but the clock is still Cupertino, and I am in the Midwest. Things seem brighter and clearer, and more detailed, but could just be hopeful imagination. Chess is working now before it opened and then quickly closed. There may be changes showing up after a day or two, patience is required. Safari seems to work about as well as Firefox. Tabs that Synced from Firefox on Seq still have adblocks in place but adblocker does not seem to work on new tabs. For now I am going back to a Seq volume both are on the internal HD.

OCLP Devs - reporting this here because I'm afraid to go back to Discord 🤣 . On my hackintosh emulating SMBIOS MBP6,2 with Broadcom Wi-Fi/Bluetooth BCM 94352HMB (Bluetooth chipset BCM_4350C2), Bluetooth stopped working in Sonoma 14.7.7 (so it didn't work in Sequoia and Tahoe Beta). The solution for me was to add BluetoolFixup boot-arg -btlfxboardid to my Open Core config.plist. Note that this boot-arg was not needed in Ventura.

Code:
boot-args: -btlfxboardid

EDIT: Based on reporting in Acidanthera Issues, I interpreted -btlfxboardid as applicable to both real Macs and Hackintoshes (which is why I'm reporting it here).

EDIT2: Smooth upgrade from Tahoe Beta 6 -> Beta 7. Waiting patiently for OCLP post-install patches. Bluetooth works :)
Screenshot 2025-08-19 at 12.23.05 PM.png

EDIT3: I checked the commits to BluetoolFixup.kext after version 2.6.9 and see that the automatic BoardID patch was removed AFTER version 2.6.9. The -btlfxboardid boot-arg is relevant only to Open Core EFIs that use BluetoolFixup.kext version 2.7.0 and later.

With Tahoe being the last operating System to support Intel processors, does Dortania-Github hope to create OCLP for Silicon based processors such as the M1? Does anyone have information on that? Just trying to look ahead. I hate giving up my Mac Pro 2012.

The developers are hoping to get MacOS Tahoe running on older Macs. The first results so far are promising, but unfortunately, it's been down for a month and nothing's happened. I don't think they're fixing the issue with the graphics, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, T1 chip, etc. But I'm happy to be proven wrong.

Currently I see Sequoia as the end of the line. A working MacOS Tahoe, would be neat. But not more than that. There is no real added value in that OS as far as I can see, apart from security updates perhaps. Liquid glass feature is questionable as a whole. An M1 in the after market is already reasonable cheap and also obsolete pretty soon.

As many have pointed out before, Tahoe is in beta and so much is changing every iteration that it would be pointless tweaking OCLP for the betas. Pazienza, as the Italians would say.
