Noticing major stuttering and lag while simply watching YouTube on Firefox. M1 Max 64 GB RAM MBP. Started happening immediately after updating to Tahoe, was not occurring before the update.

Anyone else?

Same here. Immediately after the update, YouTube started stuttering - Brave browser.

Same issue here. Firefox on Mac OS 26 seems to be having some major issues with video playback

Nvidia GeForce Now also having this same stuttering / lag. Unplayable. Basically any video stream is having this stutter issue.

There are discussions on various threads about M1 and lag with macOS Tahoe.

Seems obvious as to why...

M4 Max Studio - stuttering in VLC, elmedia,IINA.Was happening during beta, so I formatted and went back to sequoia (no problems) and when I updgraded to Tahoe general release the stuttering started back up, albeit not as bad as beta.

I'm sure it will get remedied but really frustrating in the meantime.

Actually for me, I don't feel anything shuttering or lag while watching Youtube videos but when come browsing website, I noticed after sometimes it tend to feel lag and shuttering while scroll up and down on my trackpad. I using iMac bought in 2024. Now Google has another update, currently monitor how it go.

Still happening for me in Firefox (143.0.3) on M2 Max with 64GB of RAM. 26.0.1. It's really bad. Like unwatchable. 3 out of every 5 seconds will be still frames. The audio is smooth. Restarting doesn't help. Nothing else is open.

Dude, I only have my calendar app open and the fans are spinning like it's the homecoming dance.
I looked at the activity monitor and all I see eating up capacity is kernel_task.
I have gotten used to Pages just frying the entire machine due to some forever unresolved spotlight bug, but now it's just existing in sleep mode at four in the morning that gets the fans spinning. And it´s been like that every day since I upgraded.

This new lineup of OS is **** on every device I have. It´s not even whether you like Liquid Glass or not (through I am sure the effect delivers something towards the feel of older devices in terms of planed obsolency).
All of this just feels like it's an Alpha version.

(the last 27 inch intel iMac here, 2020, all stacked out, 5k€, cant even idle anymore)

Try Safari. 🤷‍♂️

Also, try the Firefox Beta’s, they are constantly fixing bugs

still having stuttering / lagging issues on YouTube on Firefox

Too many bugs in this release. I went back to Sequoia. It's a disaster for me macOS Tahoe. Not sure how is it possible...
